Paul Morphy has the most entertaining style, so if I could play like anyone that’s who I would like to play like.

He lost his title by refusing to play, but I believe that at his peak, he was the greatest chess player of all time

Fischer, but man did he turn into a loon. I recently got into chess these last few months and watched a documentary on him. Brilliant in his early years but became an anti-semite, conspiracy theorist crazy person

Carlsen is the current number one Chess (2882, highest rating in history) and Rapid Chess player.

He trails Liren only 2875 to 2873 for the number one Blitz Chess ranking

How is this even a question?

Edited to add that the question is not necessarily rhetorical.

Morphy was probably the most ahead of his peers.

USCF rated 1400 here. Fischer had the best peak. Kasparov had the most impressive run.

Either Kasparov (innovator of new dynamism) or Carlsen (the master of the style).

Fischer's lasting legacy was in inspiring Kasparov to invent modern chess. Kasparov -- who was in the process of developing a new style of play that could be used to defeat a computer -- famously compared Fischer to a computer. In that sense, Fischer's style didn't stick, but rather became the foil for Kasparov's new dynamism, which now dominates competitive chess.
