That grand slam would have been illegal in Little League.

17-0 my god

If the Cubs add and improve their bullpen...they can be deadly in the postseason.

They have the lineup and and the Ace, they just need to add to their bullpen

I'd still like to add another top of the rotation arm but I'm not sure that they will be able to get one for the right price. There is no need to give up a lot to get one when you can sign one after the season and you are literally the same team plus 1 year experience in April 2016.

True. But I can see them making a play for a bullpen arm or two just to help with a playoff push

Who do you consider an ace? Just curious

In a perfect world you'd like a hoss pitching in front of Lester and arrietta

Lester if he actually pitches like he pitched Sunday is an Ace IMO. That's the first time he's really shown that this year but that's what he's capable of

You never know. He could stay up until Soler is back, but that is very unlikely. Maddon loves player flexibility, and he threw Bryant in CF early on.

if he stays up* then I think that would also be an admission by the FO that he won't stick as a catcher, which seems the complete opposite of everything the FO is saying.

*not since the will kris bryant be sent to the minors at the end of spring story line have I been this confident about something i know nothing about.

Uh, did you miss the entire month of May? He performed that well for the entire month.

I agree with you it is highly unlikely, but it will be interesting if Schwarber ravages the ball the next four days.

He is a long term OF in my eyes, so I guess I want him to play, since his bat is ready.

I feel like out of habit cubs fans didn't watch any games in may, and then just popped back in for lester's first 2 june starts.

I think so too.

I still expect he'll be back up this year...assuming we're pushing for a WC spot.

It would be really nice if they did, but Coghlan has been a really good player lately. I mention Coghlan because he's the likely odd man out if Schwarber remains on the MLB roster. Coghlan's average has climbed all the way up to .251 after being at .192 May 16.

Denorfia would be the odd man out until Soler is back. That is another reason why I want Schwarber to stay up. We have so much room in the corners.

Eno Sarris (or maybe it was Dave Cameron, I forgot) was saying that a lot of pitchers don't really like throwing to Montero that much, so it is conceivable that the Cubs could deal him for a pitcher if they believe that Schwarber can get to Montero's level, which is apparently not that amazing.

Depends on how you define "right". Fair value for a #1 is an elite prospect + (although teams are rarely willing to do that anymore). Fair value for a real ace (Kershaw, Hernandez, Sale, Kluber) is 2 top 10s and 2 more top 50s and more.
Do the Cubs have any top 10 prospects left to trade?

I'm ready to just stick him in LF and be done with it.
