Chasing points never seems to be the best decision.

Harbaugh going for 2 when the score was 19-21 in the 3rd ultimately forced them to go for two in the end. Granted, it should have been a conversion had the TE caught the ball but it always seems to not work out in favor of the team chasing points.

Usually shouldn’t be done early in the game. You never know what is going to happen later, and you may wish you had that point.

That’s just classic Harbaugh.

100% correct, always take the points especially in the first 3 quarters.

Coaches have a penchant for making counterintuitive choices because the "analytics" tells them to. The media helps to perpetuate it. Take the points, dummies.

I have to assume there is analytics on this because there's analytics on everything but I'm curious as to what it says. I think you go for two only when you have to

I think going for it was right

I low key think that motioning Henry out of the back field when he was slicing through the defense with ease was one of the worst calls of the weekend. The bills defense had to sell out against the threat of run… and then you removed it for no actual reason

Yeah. Unlike analytics in basketball, it can destroy you in playoff football or baseball. A generation ago, some of these coaches would have been fired for being too aggressive on 4th or going for 2.

You should always try to tie the game when you have the chance. Always.

You never know if you’ll get another chance to do it.

Naw. If it’s 8-0 in the first quarter and I score a TD, there’s no reason to start going for 2. Chasing points early in the game is unnecessary.

I pretty much agree with this...but they scored that TD with 1:37 left in the 3rd quarter. That is bordering on "too early to chase points" territory.

nah, this is crazy hindsight. at that point in the game, it was absolutely late enough to attempt to tie the game up. especially when a field goal still wins later on if you miss and the score holds.

yall are insane. imagine if they didnt go for 2 and lost 21-20. you would lose your minds over that as well.
