And the Lakers/ LeBron had far more threads here as well . How many threads here have been about the Lakers / LeBron opposed to the Bucks or the Nuggets ?

Do I need to explain media conditioning and agenda setting theory?

You know why people don’t talk about the Bucks/Nuggets game? BECAUSE IT WASN’T ON TELEVISION.

If you can’t see an obvious connection between what people talk about and what television talks about, then I can’t help you.

If Giannis was the lead basketball story on SportsCenter and First Take 341 days a year instead of Lebrun and the Lakers, this board would look a whole lot different.

And if you don’t believe me, go back and tell me how many of those threads were titled “I can’t believe what Jemele/Cowturd/SAS/Skip said about...”

This original video is proof of agenda setting. Barkley tried to introduce a new thought into television’s marketplace of ideas and immediately they dismissed it and changed the subject. They don’t allow the idea to gain traction. Let’s make a joke instead.

Good video. And it also reminded me of how much I can’t stand Jay Williams. Holy frick, he is awful.

If you've never read this before, a testament to Barkley's goodness:

The Pelicans basically wasted Davis' prime years

He's 26 years old. He's just hitting his prime.

Minnesota squandered Kevin Garnett's talents for over a decade

Because they didn't win a title? Garnett put that expansion team on the map. They made the playoffs 8 times and the WCF once.

Flip Saunders years were pretty solid with Garnett.

ETA:

I remember growing up in Baton Rouge and seeing kids with Kevin Garnett T-Wolves jerseys. That's exactly what you want from a super star in a small market. He had national appeal.

Jay Williams is a joke. That’s been obvious since his first day on the air.

He is as bad on television as he is on motorcycles.

No, the media just hates teams with no history and no fan base being giftwrapped a second superstar in six years.

This is one of the single most stupidest things I've read on here, and that says a lot.

And yet the same media are okay with the most mismanaged team in sports this side of the Browns getting KD and AD in the same offseason.

It's not the pelicans / Hornets that have hampered Anthony Davis ....it has been Anthony Davis who has generally hampered Anthony Davis.

The dude is always hurt or something. He tanked it this year even before he asked to be traded.

Just like they supported the legendary Pistol Pete before losing the franchise to Utah
Let us not forget, New Orleans Jazz set attendance records in those years when Peter was still great, before his knee injuries and right after.

They set many single-game attendance records until the Pistons moved into the Pontiac Silverdome and Sam Battistone took away the Jazz. Nights of 26,000+, 27,000+ and 30,000+ then the Pistons got in on the action when they were beginning to improve.
