Great stadium over there and all, but its fricking awful for a college football game.
JerryWorld sucks. Its atmosphere sucks. The location sucks. The price gouging sucks.
I've been to both several times and would rather go to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans every time.
If the game was actually in Dallas at Fair Park this might actually be a discussion because then you could at least use the light rail and cabs to get to the areas worth partying in for a reasonable price. Since its in Arlington where there is nothing but chain restaurants and concrete highways its not even close.
As a resident of Dallas, it pains me to say Reliant in Houston would be a much better choice for this game when you consider the fan. At least that stadium is in the city and has a link to their rail system. Plus it doesn't have that incredibly distracting mega video board.

Texas food > Cajun cuisine and it's not even close. Besides, who gives a shite about the food when half the people who come to the game arrive that day and leave after the game?
It's not even a debate really but I don't expect a bunch of ignorant Saints fans to know anything anyways.

THIS. The Dallas area is kinda cool in some ways but overall it's a big meh. What put it over the top for me was getting one of those frickin camera traffic violation tickets in the mail for $75 courtesy of the Arlington, TX police department and I wasn't even driving at the time. Let a city that appreciates tourists and doesn't try to pilfer visitors for money have it instead of Arlington, TX.

New Orleans is a dump.
You do realize more people come to tourist in New Orleans that DON'T frequent Bourbon Street than the total number of people that tourist in the Dallas area? Professional conventions routinely use the city, and some of them are full of people who love the city, and don't go to just get trashed.

Texas food > Cajun cuisine
Ah, I see. Shows that you know little to nothing about New Orleans. There is barely any true "cajun cuisine" in New Orleans.
So you think New Orleans is full of Cajun culture and the only draw is Bourbon Street. You sound like the perfect idiot tourist that would enjoy Bourbon Street and a tourist trap restaurant that calls itself Cajun! Come on down, stay in a crappy Bourbon Street hotel, and get drunk every night! You will have a blast! Meanwhile, the intelligent tourists will find plenty to do and see in and out of the quarter in one of the most historic and unique cities in America.

Unless we start boycotting the Arlington games, nothing is ever going to change.
I feel like the only way we could ever get out of JerryWorld with Arky is if both teams suck so hard attendance is terrible for several seasons.
At the very least, I wish the SW Classic could be turned into a doubleheader where we get A&M and Arkansas playing a different BCS conference team each year.

They better put it in New Orleans for the shear reason that the SEC has way more tradition than the Big XII.
Would be fricking stupid to eliminate the tradition of the SEC Champion (or the best SEC team not in the playoff) playing in New Orleans in the Sugar Bowl.
And sorry, but Cowboy Stadium is not a good place to watch a football game, compared to the Super Dome.

Geographically speaking, Dallas makes no sense at all. Other than Texas Tech, Arlington is actually more west than any SEC or Big 12 team. NOLA is within an easy drive of every "competitive" SEC and Big 12 school. My guess is: they want it in NOLA, but they're being tempted by Jerry's money
and then the fan will get ripped off, because jerry's season ticket holders will get first dibs on tickets and sell them at hyperinflated prices so they can continue to pay their overpriced seat licenses....
