Probably locations for future national championships. Twitter comments calling for 8 teams or a play in for the fourth seed

I would be a fan of expanding the playoff and cutting the regular season down to 10 games. 5 home, 5 away. No FCS schools scheduled.

First round of playoffs on campus

The bcs was fine, I’m not sure why we needed to change to a playoff and have straight human input

P5 champs = Auto Qualifiers
3 at-large teams, with the top G5 team getting in if they're ranked 10th or higher.

Let the P5 teams deal with crowning their champion however they see fit.

Have the BCS pick the top 4 and be done with it

A small committee can pick the other bowls and hype it up

6 teams.

T2 get a bye and 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 in Round 1.

Seems like most of the people bitching about Alabama "already being in" are also advocating an 8 team playoff.

You're going to turn college football in the NFL where teams are resting their starters the final game or two of the regular season to save them for the playoffs.

4 team playoff is small enough to keep pretty much every game meaningful and a single loss is something a team can rarely afford.

An 8 team playoff, multiple teams every year will have essentially clinched their birth with several games to go.

The problem with this is the amount of bitching between the 2 seed vs the 3 seed. The larger the playoffs get the more issues it will have.

2003 USC, 2004 Auburn, 2011 Oklahoma State would all beg to differ

The BcS was garbage.

Six team playoff, fix the conferences, and call it good.

Not if the 1st round of playoffs are at the home field of the higher seed. Everyone would want to clinch the highest seed possible for home field advantage and for the benefit of having a lower seed opponent. You'd go into the final weekend of the season with 12 teams realistically still having playoff chances. Rivalry week would be taken to a new level with teams who aren't in the hunt having a chance to ruin their arch rivals playoff hopes.

No, an 8 team playoff in CFB will not do that at all. Especially if you make the first round at college campuses (home field advantage is a bigger deal in college than NFL).

The reason teams can do it in the NFL is because the teams that have done it have had a 2+ game lead going into the final weeks. That's just not possible with a 12 game schedule, not to mention there are many more teams vying for those 8 spots.

It's true, one loss won't hurt you, but teams will not be resting starters guaranteed.
