Bama dropped more spots in a 5 point loss than Michigan in a 29 point loss,

When you see that it's jarring but the poll doesn't happen in a vacuum. A team can't just drop X # of spots, someone below them would have to move up by definition. Michigan was close to their floor, that's why they didn't drop as much. The teams behind them are : Notre Dame who they beat by 30. Iowa who they beat by 7 and who's best win is Minnesota and i guess Iowa State. Memphis, Minnesota, Boise and Cincinnati. Followed by App State, 8-4 USC and 9-3 UVA. So, who of that group should be ranked ahead of Michigan?

Alabama was probably overranked at 5 given their ZERO ranked wins. the 3 1 loss teams are ahead of them, then the other SEC the SEC teams Florida and Auburn both also lost to LSU but on the road vs at home. Both also lost to UGA who is #4 if we are going to use quality of loss. Auburn also lost to Florida but beat Alabama. Wisconsin and Penn State both have 2 wins over ranked teams. Other than "eye test" i see no argument for Alabama to be ranked over anyone they are behind.

It's my belief that they are setting up drama. My prediction is that if all favorites win they've set themselves up for some drama. Now, they can have LSU jump OSU and OU jump Utah and have a nice dramatic evening and get a bunch of attention.

I think the ultimate goal will be to screw Utah to justify another playoff expansion.

It all can be justified. But how they all got there is inexcusable.

Blow it up and use computers.

If LSU jumps Ohio State I'll be apoplectic.

Not even kidding.

They need to get rid of a committee and not go back to computers. Let's just make it real simple and remove a human element at all.

There are 130 divison 1 football teams.

2 Conferences of 65 teams.

Each conference has 5 divisions with 13 teams.

Play 8 teams in your division with other division/comference games as teams see fit. This allows for "tradition".

All 5 division winners from each conference plays in the conference playoffs with the top seed getting a bye. Determine these rankings like the NFL does with a predetermined set of criteria.

Winners of each conference playoff meets for the Ultimate Championship.

Or screw G6 teams,

All P5 teams combine in 4 conferences. Round robin, best record goes to a 4 team playoff.

Georgia has a worse loss than UW so a win over them shouldn't boost LSU over OSU.

If OSU wins.

Assuming you win, you would have beaten that #8 team twice as well.

less than LSU beating the #4 ranked team. I wonder if they committee will drop UGA to 10 and Wisconsin to 9 if both lose.

Honest question...Your'e big into the polls, and I'm sure you may have said similar things in previous weeks, but this week you seem pretty set on the committee doing inexcusable things and wanting to do away with them seemingly wayyy more than in previous weeks.

What things specifically in tonight's polls have lead you to that conclusion?

Georgia has 1 fewer loss though.

And is a loss to a 4-8 team that much worse than to a 6-6 team? Especially when you have 2 losses.

Ohio State would have wins over #8, #8, #10, #14 and #20.

LSU would have #4, #9, #11, and #12.

5 to 4, Ohio State

Also,

OSU = 28.25 ppg margin of victory
LSU = 7.3 ppg margin

In 8 games against bowl eligible teams...

OSU beat them by 273 points (34 ppg)
LSU beat them by 183 points (22 ppg)*

So, you agree that Wisconsin and their worse loss to Illinois should be ranked behind Florida, Bama, Penn St then?

Bama's ranking this entire year has been a clusterfrick that reared its ugly head bigly today.
