The 12 seed will be the G5 team most likely. The 4 seed will be the worst conference champion. It sets up great for the 5 seed.

The Irish did not look great in this game very sloppy defense against a less than average one dimensional offense
If they played Georgia Tech next week Georgia Tech would be favored G tech could still end up beating them later in the season if they stay healthy Louisville could beat them again and Southern Cal haven't seen them yet no telling but Lincoln Riley /Southern Cal should have a good offense and this defense I don't see them progressing enough

No they wouldn't.
ND will have to really screw up somewhere and be unfocused to not make the SC team undefeated. They will be heavily favored over every team on the schedule, period. If you're betting smart money, it's for ND to win out. Their schedule is that bad.
Honestly, good for them. With a 12 team playoff there is zero reason to schedule anything other than the easiest schedule you can.

The schedule worked out to be bad but to act like it’s a purposeful thing is ridiculous. Non-ACC and non-every year rivals are: @TAMU, Northern Illinois, Miami (OH), and Army. No FCS game, an away P4 game, and then 3 G5 teams. Find another P4 team that doesn’t schedule FCS and only has G5 for OOC and goes truly on the road against another P4.
Stanford, USC, and the ACC being down is not ND’s fault.
