disappointed it wasn't a closer game at the end but great to see both teams playing great football this season

Uh, no, back in the day, the Navy was about two steps removed from piracy.

Very rare you see this kind of beatdown in this game…

Taking Navy +8.5 before the line drops after this performance today vs ranked Army team.

Most QBs these days have never taken a snap from under center.
It's not something that's so difficult the center and QB can't practice it together all summer.

I googled and Lopez was supposed to play. Now I bet and he is not playing. Did I read it wrong?

Last I saw he was playing. Did he enter the portal?
ETA: Apparently he’s “injured”

This kicker is struggling for USA.

He didn’t practice the last two weeks and has been in a boot. He was considered to be a game time decision. Wasn’t formally announced he wasn’t playing till about 2 hours before the game.

Backup kicker(s). The starter is a quitter who left for the transfer portal. The guy that missed the first FG was replaced.

Look at Dem Jaguars!!!
Pretty good win with the starting QB and number one WR injured in the sidelines, and an All-Sun Belt RB and K who quit on their team to enter the portal not even there.
Honestly thought they were toast down 10-0, as South had only won once when they didn’t score first.

Happy for Major!
was nervous when he first took over because he was the "players pick" unofficially.
but when I think about it i'd rather have him then a castoff from another school when players are also chomping at the bit to transfer.
and we did have players leave like you said.
Major Applewhite for Mayor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of the off the field stories and rumors bothered me about CMA, but the biggest thing which caused me trepidation was the fact he was arguably in the ideal G5 situation at Houston with a well funded program and a big booster, and he failed. Obviously, South doesn’t have a Tillman Firetta around, and while our budget is in the top half of the SBC, it’s still a step off the top schools in the league.
He had also seemingly benefitted from connections in his rise rather than earning his way up.
Overall, I think he did an above average job in his first season. They has a (by SBC standards) tough schedule to open the season. Looking back, the loss to Georgia Southern where they blew a 16 point 4th quarter lead was absolutely unacceptable, and the losses to Texas State and Arkansas State were also pretty bad. If they had won one of those three, I would have felt a lot better about him.
One of the knocks on CMA at Houston was his assistant coach hires. Getting hired late when Wommack went to Alabama out him in a pickle, but when Corey Batoon left to take the DC job at Mizzou it made it even worse. Bringing back Will Windham - who was fired as LB coach after the 2023 - to keep continuity and players from hitting the portal was a calculated risk. My feeling is that he’s the long term answer.
