Thursday 10/08
6:00pm
Missouri State (1-3) at Western Kentucky (1-4) - CBSSN
Sam Houston (1-3) at Liberty (4-1) - ESPNU

6:30pm
South Alabama (3-2) at Arkansas State (2-3) - ESPN2
South Florida (4-1) at UTSA (4-1) - ESPN

Tonight South Florida at UTSA is essentially an elimination game for the G6 playoff spot. Neither team as performed particularly well last week w/UTSA edging by at Rice 16-14 and USF falling to Temple 17-13.

UTSA is led by senior QB Owen McCown who has thrown for 1,010 yards, 7 tds, 2 ints, on 68% passing. USF QB MichaelVan Buren Jr. has 896 yards, 3 tds, no picks, at 62.6%.

This game could have some implications for Memphis down the line as well since USF is likely the most high profile game left on their schedule.

I am liking Liberty -13.5 tonight vs Sam Houston. Moved down from -14 earlier.

Sam Houston (1-3, 0-3 against FBS) visits Liberty (4-1, 3-1 against FBS). Sam Houston scores 27.8 points a game and allows 24.0; Liberty scores 30.4 and allows 17.8. Liberty is favored by 13.5 after opening at Liberty -14.5. The total is 52.5 (opened 50.5).

Sam Houston's offense succeeds on 43.9% of its plays against a Liberty defense that allows 35.1%. Liberty's offense succeeds on 46.0% against a Sam Houston defense that allows 38.8%.

The bigger play threat of the two offenses is Sam Houston (explosiveness 1.28); the defense more likely to give up a big play is Liberty (1.36).

Sam Houston, most recent games: L 14-49 at Texas Tech; W 59-0 vs Nicholls. Liberty, most recent games: W 30-14 at Delaware; W 34-17 at Coastal Carolina. Sam Houston is +2 in turnovers (7 gained, 5 lost); Liberty is +3 in turnovers (8 gained, 5 lost).

Key Liberty Players:
Deshawn Purdie: 60 of 100, 936 yards, 7 touchdowns, 0 interceptions.
Kam Davis: 457 rushing yards on 64 carries, long of 56.
Makai Jackson: 19 catches for 469 yards, long of 65.

I will never understand why SHSU thought it was a good idea to become a D1 punching bag. And the mid majors are kicking their arse too. Dumb move.

KC Keeler had them doing well enough but Temple hired him away after he got them to the NOLA Bowl a couple years ago. Phil Longo has not been a good replacement however.

Early ref failure on an easy call in USF/UTSA. USF clearly jumped offside on a 4th and 1, the UTSA o-lineman points his arm like you're supposed to do, and they put it on him instead of the guy who jumped into the neutral zone.

Can we just talk about how bad the Bucs suck in this thread.

How did we get so bad. Lost 12 of the last 15. Please for the love of everything good in the world, fire Todd Bowles

That is all

As a Panthers fan, I hope you give Bowles an extension tomorrow. He just needs time.

We should talk about how Cowboys fans don’t even like their team enough to start threads anymore.
