You couldn't pay me to take Melo, let alone giving up a good player.

My initial reaction is hell no, but what's the downside? Love is a defensive liability, but the dude can rebound and knock down 3's. He's also pretty well blended into their system, knows his role. On the other hand, Melo would need to be accounted for at all times by the defense and can do everything plus more that Love can do.

I still lean towards no thanks.

I wouldn't trade Shumpert for Melo.

Love's offense works much better with Lebron and Kyrie. Neither Melo or Lebron want to guard pf's every night too.

Not sure why Cavs said no. Maybe they want the Knicks to have to take Kyrie with Love. - Boom

You put Lebron and melo on the same squad and you get the Olympic level dominant Melo IMO. Lebron would get the best out of him.

no way, melo is the ultimate me player, he could give ZERO fricks if he ever wins a title, but u better give him the ball, so he can miss that jumper for the win,,,,errr loss.

Hell no.

I would consider bundling Shump and Richard Jefferson for Melo. The Knicks would need a small forward worse than they would need Love anyway.

Melo at his best is a better player than Love.

You would think that if anyone can get Melo to quit being a selfish dumbass and play good team basketball on both ends of the court, it's Lebron.
Melo would be much better for them than Love, even though Love has accepted his Bosh role and is doing well in it, if he really bought in. Big if.
Melo and Love both shoot about the same from 3. When Melo has played on All Star teams and the Olympics, he's always played good team ball and shot the ball better than he does in NBA games.

All that being said, I'd rather Love.
