I’m a bit surprised by this move but at the same time I’m not. Cavs said they wanted to shake things up and shakes start at the top.

They basically reached their ceiling as currently constructed but I’m not sure there is any way to raise it. They will probably regress.

Did they expect the Cavs to beat the Celtics with both Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen missing the last few games of that series?

This is a move to try and get Donovan Mitchell to re-sign, if I had to guess.

These NBA firings are always so gay.

He will be replaced by a re-thread and then it will be the re-threads fault that the star players are fricking chockers

As a life long Cavs fan...i am ok with this. JBB just didn't have the right style of leadership for me. He is too soft as a coach. It will be interesting to see what direction the franchise goes this off season. One hand, i would be ok with them drafting Bronny and being able to land LeBron...its only right he retires as a Cavalier. Resign Mitchell. Also, it sounds like Bryce could end up at Ohio State for basketball...so that would all make sense. Maybe the Cavs will go after JJ Reddick???? Who knows????

HC: JJ Reddick

1. Darius Garland
2. Donovan Mitchell
3. LeBron James
4. Evan Mobley
5. Jarrett Allen

Caris LeVert
Max Struss
Isaac Okoro

I would run with that team for sure!!!

Now, if they lose Mitchell, can't land LeBron and don't draft Bronny...then blow it all up...everyone!!!

One issue that hasn’t been discussed enough is how well do Mobley and Allen play together. Mobley took off in the Celtics serious without Allen on the floor. I’d argue that the Cavs would be better off trading Allen and getting assets, especially if they are looking to shake things up a bit anyway.

Garland and Allen are likely getting traded.

They put out a hit piece the day after they got eliminated from the playoffs. Think the writing was on the wall

Step 1.

Step 2 is moving Garland and probably Allen.

Who do you follow for basketball news/entertainment? Because this has been repeated profusely on basketball related pods, or basketball related content for those who follow closely. I have no clue if they cover this on ESPN television "news"

Where do they go?

NOLA is an obvious landing spot for Allen, though the Cavs may not want BI depending on their new coach and may demand other pieces like Herb Jones as part of any deal.

Garland? NOLA would take him but his value may not be what Cleveland thinks it is between his play and his representation.

Good. Guy was a dogshit HC that had put terrible rotations on the floor.

Cavs reached their ceiling with JBB. He lost some of the players towards the end too. Good guy but it’s time to move on.

I could see Orlando trying to make a play for Garland, they need a guard. Obviously the Pels may also be in consideration here, but I don't see them pairing Garland with CJ in the backcourt, so they'd have to get off of CJ too, unless he's gonna come off the bench. I could see San Antonio potentially, too. They need a guard.

Other than the Pels, I could see maybe OKC making a play for JA. Or maybe Memphis if they want to play JJJ at the 4. Potentially the Suns, but I have no clue what they would even have to offer. There aren't that many teams that are going to be in the market for a center. IMO it's the Pels and OKC who would be the main two teams looking at JA.

If CJ stays, he likely comes off the bench.

Idea is that any starting lineup would be point-Trey-Herb-Zion-center.
