this is what I never understood .. with ALL the soccer figs at that school, he couldn't find ONE that could kick a football 30 yards through two tall pipes ?

He won't let them.

our long distance kicker was hitting 40 yarders in warm ups.

What fricked us is Coach going for it on 4th and long at the end of the first half. We didn't convert, and they had a all state kicker. He hit a 45+ yarder before the half ran out...if coach punts, we win that came 18-17.

I vividly remember everything that went wrong in that game Theres alot more that we as players could ahve done better

We outgained them like 400 to 220 in yards. We beat the dog shite out of them overall..just not in the scoreboard Stanford TB Jeremy Stewart had like 200 all purpose yards

who was the stud defensive lineman Acadiana had that season ??

that hurts me to this day I think we had 20 D1/D1AA football players on that team

While they were really good, our '97 team would have wiped the floor with them. I am still pissed we had to travel to West Monroe for the semifinal. We got hosed on the fake fg.

And frick Tommy Banks.

As was I. We went nuts on the sideline after the return. Man we had it on the fake fg late in the 4th. I can't believe they called a penalty.

We overachieved in '99. The '97 team is the best we have ever fielded IMO.

We had 9 major D1 signees including LSU, Texas, Clemson, Florida State, and Navy(pushing major I know).

WM got to pay Carencro in the finals who we had already beat at their place. Losing Bessix in the first game really cost us the title. He could have stopped the fb dive from Banks.

I'm still pissed about it.

Our D was 3x the '96 teams D. Coach even told us himself that we were his best team/D hes ever coached.

Theres no telling how good we really could have been. We had 3 D1AA caliber DB/RB quit/leave CHS before the '06 season.

You mean '97? We lost our middle linebacker with a broken leg first game. And the '97 offense was >>>>>>than '06. I am not taking anything away from ya'lls team. They should have won the title no doubt.

Our QB, RB, TE, and both receivers went to Texas, Fla. St, LSU, Clemson, Kentucky, and Navy. Enough said.

Both CB went to D1 teams as well. We were fricking stacked. Ranked #7 in the country going into the semifinals.

Wilfred Journet. best opposing defensive player ive ever seen in person in HS. Better than Luther Davis and Will Blackwell and Shomari Clemons.

We ran away from him on end sweeps to our D1 backs and receivers and he still got them for losses in the backfield.

He was a beast. Leader of the defense. About 5'10 and 220 if I recall. He could jack people up. I think we lost our starting safety during the year as well if I remember correct.

I am blanking on Brown, but the others are correct. Boone was 2nd string rb and shanklin 3rd. Behind Travis Minor.

fricking stacked.
