How much longer do they give him? He hasn't produced shite in a long time. They had that miracle semi-final run a few years ago, but that's about it. No state championships in almost 30 years of coaching an ALL-BOYS school.
I get the feeling the alumni and boosters are starting to get sick of losing, and an 0-3 start doesn't help matters. They have plenty of talent, but as their game against Denham Springs last week indicates, the coaching and playcalling is complete shite right now.
As a former player of his, I will say that he is a great man, great husband, father, and coach. He gets the most out of average and below average teams. He has unfortunately ran into evangel and WM with his best teams, and his best team played one half of football in '06.
Great man; his brother died in '06 and I remember all of us goign to the wake for him. He came back and coached the 2nd half of our whipping of Central (42-0). We tried to rally around that incident and the loss of another players father in our run during the playoffs. Wish we could have given him a championship that year. We just had slow starts during the playoffs that year.
BUT...Garidel got the boot for essentially the same thing. Weiner is great for the young kids, but I would even say he probably knows his time is running up as well.

Especially considering how much recruiting and under-the-table shite they do.
thats funny because its not as rampant and out of control as you all make it seem. At least it wasnt when I was there.

I was never questioning his character, I know it is outstanding, I am just questioning how much longer they'll let him last.

Is football the only major sport to never win a title at chs?
basketball. There hasnt been a tall black kid in that school since the Chicago Bears Chris Williams was there in '02.

What gets me to this day is that with all of that talent on that semifinal team a few years back that they couldn't have found a decent kicker
that hurts me to this day
In coaches defense, we played horrible in the 1st half. Acadiana came out and punched in the mouth. We recovered in the 2nd half, but it was 2 late. That AHS team doesnt beat us 2 times out of 10. IMO, we were the best team in the state that year with JC.

What was it, like a 40 yarder? Had to go for a TD on the last play of the game because Ledet could barely make an XP.
our long distance kicker was hitting 40 yarders in warm ups.
What fricked us is Coach going for it on 4th and long at the end of the first half. We didn't convert, and they had a all state kicker. He hit a 45+ yarder before the half ran out...if coach punts, we win that came 18-17.
I vividly remember everything that went wrong in that game
We outgained them like 400 to 220 in yards. We beat the dog shite out of them overall..just not in the scoreboard

I played on the 90 state runner up team. Warrick was a soph I was a senior. weiner's first year was my freshman or 8th year. I agree with Strong Safety. This thread is full of fail but it is time for new blood.

Oh BTW, not every black kid that plays football is on scholarship
that was a team yall had. Kevin Franklin was my defensive back coach at CHS for a little. Great guy.

that was a hell of a team. We were pretty small though I started at NG and wrestled at 189 to give you an idea. Shannon Robique center at Denham and then all SEC at Auburn was a bit much for me to handle.

The biggest problem is that CHS cannot find a QB. It's a joke.

I feel like Coach Garidel or Coach Hood told us a story about you, or mentioned something about how you competed at that size. Thats what made playing for them great; as long as you were physically and mentally tough, and could run and hit, they'd find a spot for you somewhere.
Our nose was 5'10 300

Oliver
Lewis
Ponder
Pendarvis
Dunn
Applewhite
I think those guys and many more would disagree

this is what I never understood .. with ALL the soccer figs at that school, he couldn't find ONE that could kick a football 30 yards through two tall pipes ?

Won't let them.
In order to kick, he makes them be at practice everyday for the entire duration. This is during select season so soccer kids aren't willing to quit just to kick field goals.
