A recent CT scan on Carson Wentz’s back revealed a fractured vertebrae that, if allowed time to rest, would fully heal without further expected issues, sources tell ESPN. There will be a continued evaluation to determine if continuing to play this year will make injury worse.

Roseman and Pederson should be fired if they let him play through this. They're 6-7 and going nowhere this season. Let Foles finish the year and get Wentz back healthy for 2019.

Would be pretty funny if Foles lead them on another super bowl run

Eagles wouldn’t know WTF to do

Why the frick would they test it to see if he can play through?

Your team is 6-7 and not good, protect your franchise quarterback

I agree with this, but they aren't exactly 3-10. They are indeed in the heart of getting into the Wild Card and are technically still alive for the division. Is it worth risking your QB to try and squeeze into the playoffs when you certainly won't get far in said playoffs? I'd argue no, but they aren't quite in the position of "playing for nothing"

Its pretty remarkable just how good Wentz has been this year. Coming off major injury and now in only his 3rd season, he is putting up this stat line while also battling a bad back to go with his recovering knee

279.4 yds/game---69.6% completion---2.45 tds/game---0.63 ints/game---102.2 passer rating

I get the pressure to compete the year after a superbowl, but for the long term health of the franchise, they need to basically punt on the season.

They won the SB with a backup, creating a league wide desire for a competent backup. They need to follow their own example.

He's done.

Edit: He'll never be the same.

How so? I didn’t see many people going crazy on back up QB contracts or anything. And this isn’t the first time a backup went on a crazy fluky run

Not with that injured team, which is why they are 6-7 in the first place

This is what you pay Foles for - why risk your franchise QB when you're practically done anyhow?

Let Foles use that 9 iron
