Just curious, but what does an NFL career have to do with how good a player was in college? I've always found this argument to be very odd.

BTW, LSU has a ton of busts as well bud.

The 3 best players from USC Pete didn't recruit. Thought he inherited Carson and Troy and he ignored Matthews but he walked on regardless

Matthews was a safety with linebacker speed. Then steroids happened.

It doesn't. But how could the best offense ever all be so terrible in the NFL?
Leinart
Bush
White
Jarrett
Smith

Bush is the only guy still left in the NFL from that team.
Like I said it's not like they were Tommy Frazier where you knew they weren't going to be NFL players, they were 1st round picks, and did nothing. Maybe they weren't that good in college, we, i mean the media, just hyped them up too much. And i don't think Bush is a bust, he just needs the right system to excel, much like Glenn Dorsey.

LSU had pro bowlers on their 2003 team
Joe Addai
Dwayne Bowe
Kyle Williams
Andrew Whitworth
Laron Landry

Name someone other than Jamarcus? I'd say Michael Clayton, since he was a 1st round pick, but he was really good his rookie year and injuries and his bad habits got to him.

You can't say a guy drafted in the 7th round is a bust.

Lavalais was a 5th round pick. He was the guy with all the awards on defense at LSU. Maybe he looked so good b/c he was had 3 enormously talented lineman next to him that teams were more concerned with in Kyle Williams, Marcus Spears and Marquise Hill. Is he a bust b/c he lasted 2 years in the NFL, as a 5th round pick?

because, along with miami in 2001, USC had the greatest offensive line in college history.

When Pete Carroll resurrected USC, he brought flair, flash and a lot of fleet feet back to a campus that had been unable to sustain any magic for two decades. After two national championships, seven consecutive Pac-10 titles, 102 victories, a 34-game winning streak that matched the longest streak in the past 40 years, and three Heisman winners, it is clear that USC achieved what no other school could match. The Trojans made the decade their own.

White, Jarret, and Smith were not first rounders. Get your facts straight.

funny that you mention injuries with an LSU player but not SC. Steve Smith was one of the best slot receivers in the game before injuries derailed him. But that doesn't fit your narrative, does it?

This video shuts down the argument. USC deserves a 30 for 30.

2nd rounders, which i said in the first post about them.
you get drafted in the 2nd round, most teams expect you to start your rookie season.

what narrative is that?
it was more than injuries with Clayton, he was an idiot after his successful 1 year. i didnt' hide from that, and i'd say he was a bust.

Both Smith and Clayton had similar careers and stats. 1 good year and a bunch of mediocre years. 50% of each of their career stats came from 1 season.
I'll give you Smith as not a bust, even though he couldn't stay healthy. Didnt' realize Smith's injury affected him that much, but don't be retarded and say he was one of the best slot receivers in the NFL. He could barely see the field until Buress and Toomer got hurt and only played 2 full seasons in the NFL.

Who cares?

You think Palmer wins the Heisman if Paul Hackett was still his coach?

Given that USC had about 45-50 less players the past three years, that is pretty good. Don't expect this to last for long
