The hate for usc is hilarious. People thinking that usc benefited from some rogue agent trying to lure Reggie bush AWAY from usc is astonishing.

It's great to see the USC hate coming back to this site. It's been far too long. I miss the days that SC threads filled out the entire first page of the MSB

Haterade is the dew at the dawn of relevance.

This is a 30 for 30 film that college football fans have been waiting for.

Meh, all of the 30 For 30s about college football have been terrible. Roll Tide/War Eagle, Ghosts of Ole Miss, The U (both parts), Pony Excess, The Marinovich Project, and Brian and the Boz were all horrendously done.

The only one dealing with college football that were half-decent were The Best That Never Was, but I'd argue it was more about the biggest high school recruit ever than a piece about college football.

The one I'll disagree with you on is Pony Excess. I thought that episode was fantastic.

SC did win a BCS title, it was revoked after the fact.
Nobody tries to win a BCS title retroactively.

Yeah. Pony Excess was great because it was a balanced look at the situation, unlike those shitty Billy Corben Miami puff pieces.

I don't hate USC and I'll be going into this with an open mind, but if I have to guess, I think it'll be more of a fan homage than an inside look, and that just doesn't interest me because I'm not a USC fan and I didn't like those teams back then. A deeper look into the program and a look behind the scenes would be interesting, but watching their cool highlights while the players/coaches grin and brag about the glory days does nothing for me.

The BCS, USC, and the NCAA, by virtue of vacating USC's result in the 2005 Orange Bowl, disagree.

Sorry. You gotta win it on the field, and you can't to that with a team that isn't eligible.

The BCS title is no more prestigious than the AP title at this point.

The U could was such a let down. So much potential, but yeah just fluff crap as told by guys who weren't even some of the big names from that era, just guys who haven't moved past their glory days.

The reason for the hate...

USC #1 Football factory in history

"Clearly #1" - Mussberger

11 National Championships, most
7 Heisman Trophy winners, most
150 All-Americans...most,
12 NFL Hall of Famers, most.

I guess you could say that, since no one else has the same record as them, but there are a few teams with better records than them in that time period.
Find me a link that shows they have more wins than anyone else in that time period.

And to go over their list of top players from the Pete era drafted in the top 2 rounds:
Shaun Cody DT - average NFL career
Clay Matthews LB - very good NFL player
Mark Sanchez - butt fumble
Sedrick Ellis DT - played 5 average years and retired
Mike Patterson DT - average NFL career
Taylor Mays S - plays more special teams than safety
Brian Cushing LB - good player on steroids
Steve Smith WR - no not the good one
Rey Maualuga LB - average NFL career
Winston Justice OT - mediocre NFL career
Keith Rivers LB - average NFL career
Lofa Tatupu LB - short average NFL career
Mike Williams WR - 5 career TD's
Dwayne Jarrett WR - 1 career TD
Lendale White RB - didnt' make it past his rookie contract
Carson Palmer - very good career
Troy Polamalu - very good career
Matt Leinart - not an NFL qb
Reggie Bush - average NFL career
