i'm not sure a 2018 Melo free agent signing is thread worthy

hmmm, bit of stretch.
I think what you meant to say was, "All the msb hoops experts said Melo wouldn't be willing to come off the bench."

Might be nit-picking, but that's important with you being who you are Boom. See my sig quote.

Coming from the same poster that posted this gem of a rumor:

quote:

Friend just ran into Tilman at a bar by the Galleria. Tilman is saying not sure about Melo coming to Houston. Working on it and we'll find out tomorrow. Melo not backing away from wanting a starting role and some guarantees on minutes.

I'd be more worried about him being a huge net negative last year than whether he starts or not.

Brush it off by ripping Russ, but Melo was basically one of the worst rotation players in the whole league last year, and he isn't young.

I always said Melo was coming in to fulfill that ryno role. Off the bench scorer. It was the lower iq fans who thought he was gonna come in and sabotage the starting lineup bc he was unwilling to come off the bench. As usual I got it right.

I can’t see him finishing games. If he is, wow. Give CC the ring. Bc that means Melo is playing so good that Eric or Clint is losing minutes to him at games end. If he is playing at that level, if he is that good. Holy smokes.

Melo is a negative for your roster.

Melo shouldn't be doing either of those things.

when a guy is only playing 20 min or whatever and not finishing games, his impact either positive or negative is pretty minimal. bc when the game is decided he is on the bench. When the game is won or loss. Just like last year with ryno or with Melo fulfilling that 7th man role CC is the clear second best team.

I'm saying Melo makes your team worse. He's a huge liability on defense and hates ball movement on offense. You would be a better team without him.

Minimal impact? Maybe, but its a negative minimal impact. And when you're trying to beat GS, you need all the help you can get.

Cc is not a ball movement offense. It’s give the ball to harden. The best one on one player the league has seen. And let him go to work. And what we saw last year was the best offense the nba has seen. Ever. when harden is resting Melo gonna get his chance to run a little offense. But you don’t take the ball outta hardens hands unless that what James wants.

I disagree. I think he will help and I think playing with unselfish guys like Paul and Harden will make him a better player than he was last year.

But I don't think he will close many games. Clint, Tucker, Gordon, Harden and Paul will, and that group is as lethal as any in the league. Melo, Green, Ennis, Nene, Anderson are all good bench players although I think Anderson will end up traded to a non-contender for a pick. When the playoffs roll around this group will be just as dangerous as they were last year.

A shite bench is why the Cavs got rocked by Warriors. Those 20 minutes by your bench players can win or lose you the game.
