I hate this trade...
1st round pick from Heyward rejecting the QO is a greater return then back end of the rotation pitcher named Shelby Miller.
Let alone that first season where he out pitched his peripherals is going to drive up his arb costs.
Best bet is to dump Shelby Miller on someone else in two years, so the braves don't have to pay his back end arb numbers

Guess what? Let's see if they do it again this year. I bet not.

This isn't football or basketball. This simply is not true.

Y'all notice that Crimsonian knows one stat, homers. That's all that matters to him.
Chicks dig the longball.
You guys do the math.

Hey bud, how many home runs did the Royals hit during the year and how did that rank in the MLB? Moreover, where did they rank for outfield defense and base running? I'll hang up and listen.
The royals? Bro they suck, haven't even been to the playoffs since 85
Idiot

What does his peripherals suggest?
He ended last season pretty well.
5 (30 ip) starts in sept/out
1.48 ERA
.85 WHIP
7.7 k/9
A lot of people think he was turning a corner. Either way, the book is never written on a SP after two seasons. You can rattle off 20 guys who people thought sucked but now are aces

They say you can't fix stupid and crimsonian is living proof. I don't acknowledge him as a sentient being.

The dude has defended the Chris Johnson contract yet constantly ripped JHey.

I'll admit, I'm really sad to see Heyward go. He's a franchise player and he's really underrated in my book.
As incredibly frustrating as it is, we probably have to go into rebuilding mode. It is really hard to believe this might be happening as a Braves fan because we have been so consistently good for so long, but our Front Office REALLY fricked up... so badly that you don't really recover from moves that bad.
Our offseason moves to get Uggla and BJ were historically bad. Absolutely disastrous moves that have fricked our franchise pretty good. When you waste ENORMOUS contracts on --no exaggeration-- probably the worst two players in all of baseball, you don't deserve to compete for a title. Combine that with our terrible TV deal... ugh. I have a very pessimistic view of the future of the Braves.

I see the pussy Braves fans talk a lot of shite when they are wrong. Killing you guys that Heyward wasn't wanted. He is average. Get over it.

I really want to bookmark your stupidity for when Heyward has a solid season as a Redbird but at this point it/you aren't even worthy of that bump as everyone already knows you're not all there.

Because of how quickly he got to the big leagues, Heyward is in line to hit free agency after his age-25 season, and he’s going to have roughly +25 career WAR when he reaches the open market. Barring a disastrous 2015 season, he’s going to get paid, and you can be certain that his agents will be pointing to the 13 year, $325 million deal that Giancarlo Stanton has agreed to as the new precedent. Sure, Heyward isn’t going to get 13/$325M, given the massive differences in power, but it seems likely that he’ll demand a deal that starts at 10 years and goes north of $200 million.
FanGraphs projects 10 years, 200M+ for Heyward next winter.

Depends on the year he has on a WS contending team in a pretty loaded lineup.
Unless of course he hits .300 with 30 bombs and 90+ RBI with another gold glove and 20-30 SB's.
I would also be surprised if the Cards don't resign him long term, unless he tanks.
Would be about equal to what the Cards gave Holliday (factoring in inflation vs 2010 contracts his was 7 years 120 mill), and they'd give it to Heyward if he earns it.

With Boras, I do think JHey could chase the biggest deal.
Who knows where that will be? Especially if he has a big year.

I seriously doubt we would offer the biggest deal, just not our style. Maybe he will just fall in love with STL like a lot of players do and stay for a discount but that's unlikely especially with Boras

Holy shite! You mean pitchers not named Kershaw can have multiple bad games IN A SINGLE YEAR???!?!?!
HOLY shite!

How much of a home-team discount do you think he and his agent would have given the Braves?
I'll hang up and listen.
