Yeah, I am confident we will take the series at home vs the Brewers and really need to with @LAD and @COL to follow. Tough Western trip.

Yeah, I just wish the @LAD was on the weekend. I like those late games on Friday & Saturday.

Aside from the winning, the team has just become so much more fun to watch though.

ETA: The fun part may be directly attributable to Harrison Bader's emergence.

Carpenter, Bader, and the young arms for sure. Whole different feel to the team now.

How am I using that as an excuse?

Cubs are missing possibly their best two players and have a nice cushion on the lowly cards. They are truly impressive.

Didn't you hear? Kris Bryant is why the Cubs starting pitching staff has become one of the worst in the game. Makes total sense.

Speaking of, did you guys see the article from FanGraphs yesterday breaking down just how bad the Cubs rotation is?

Hamels and Pray for Rain and Pray for More Rain?

quote:

Including Quintana’s start, the team’s starters collectively rank 10th in the league in ERA (4.20), 12th in WAR (3.8), and 13th in FIP (4.71). Just after the All-Star break, Craig Edwards noted that the rotation’s performance was on pace to be its worst by WAR since 1974, and somehow, despite the team going 13-12 in the second half (that despite being outscored by 28 runs), it has continued to lag

The starters are 13th among NL clubs in ERA (5.39) and 11th in FIP (4.85) since the All-Star break.

I think the “lol” implies sarcasm considering he’s the hottest hitter in the MLB and happens to play for the trash birds. You cards fans are great as the “little bro” keep getting butthurt over nothing

DeJong made a correction in his swing and has been on a tear lately.

This team is fun to watch.

Based on your retort, I don't think you even understood your own statement of "baseball corrects over time."

It's clear you're just here to troll. Congrats on being a lifelong Cubs fan since 2016.

Ummm yes I did teams go on runs and have slumps. One team has proven over the course of this season to be much better than the other. One team is on a peak and they other is in a valley. Good luck trying to get that second wild card spot

Aaaaand Lester pitches 6 shutout innings with 8 ks against Pittsburgh in a 1-0 win. Chicago's pitching must have missed the memo that they're the worst in the league.

St. Louis loses. 5 games back.

Very glad to see that, I had him in the ground and about to throw dirt on him he was so bad the previous 5 outings.

I've never really had any problems with Card fans, they have always been either respectful and polite for the most part in person. But there's always this sense with the like Bama fans...."oh bless your heart you think you know something about baseball...you're so cute".

They're pretty hit or miss in my experience. I've got family that are complete twats when it comes to the Cards and they've been grinding their teeth ever since the Cubs won a title. I've also met very knowledgeable Cards fans that are great people to enjoy a game with. That said, the vocal collection of the fanbase on this board are complete chodes so it's fun to frick with them. If you have to tell people you're the best fanbase in baseball, you aren't the best fanbase in baseball.

Glad to see Cole doing well and playing for a contender. Seems like a solid dude.
