The way their pitching is right now, I'm sure they'll take anything. Maybe hoping he just needs a change of scenery.

Up 7-2 against the red stockings.

would help if the Cubs would lose more than once a week
Just get within 3 by the last 3 games.

I was just thinking how I always liked those Phillies!
Cards have the second best record in the league now.
Of course they might have the 6th best record in 10 days.

Cards pound the Reds 12-5.
22 wins in a month is the most for the franchise since 1968.

Did Shildt already put his staff together, or will he wait till the off-season?

Hasn’t been any type of announcement but I wouldn’t expect significant changes
Hard to imagine Maddux going anywhere so soon and everyone loves Buddha and obviously Oqendo has a spot as long as he wants it
Only shift would prolly be to get Clapp on the staff to keep him from jumping elsewhere but depending on what offers he gets that might not be enough to keep him

Big 7-1 win for the Cubs in Philly. Cards drop one to the Reds at home. The lead goes back to 4.5.

Gotta face Nola tomorrow though, that's why yesterday's litany of poor AB's with RISP all night was so frustrating.
Cubs starting pitching is finally coming around but they still can't shake the inconsistency at the plate against mediocre pitching like last night.

Baez solidifying himself as MVP of the national league

I was shocked myself, but I'll take it

Bases loaded, no outs, can't push one across.
Fun.
Fun.
