My tv is broken, how did the Cards do tonight?

but apparently your internet is not and it would take just as long to look up the score as it would to post the question and wait for the response.

I was going to bitch about the offense, but i didn't realize that trevor williams has a .87 era over his last 8 starts. shite, it wasn't so much the bats, than a guy who's throwing at an ace level

Team needs Ozuna back, injuries are beginning to cripple the team. And guys like O'neil are having to play every day and getting exposed.

When he pitched against the Cubs last outing he had the best stuff I've seen all year, and I've seen the Cubs against both Scherzer and DeGromm in the past month or so.

Late movement without having to go out of the strike zone for chases, and very few mistakes or hangers. If he pitched against the Cards as he did the Cubs have no shame cause I agree dude is dealing.

The bench coach has been nothing short of excellent

So was Orgeron. At least the results were. Then we made THAT mistake.

But reading up on Shildt, I feel a lot better about the hire.

My brother in law was really hopeful Yadi would retire after this season and they'd make him the manager. Was pretty sure neither one of those was going to happen.

Comparing Shildt to Oregeron is a pretty apples to orange situation IMO

O has an established track record as a coach, we know what his limitations are. Shildt is more of an unknown but you simply can’t argue with the results thus far

I LOVE how the young guys are thriving under him especially in comparison to Matheny

Shildt

was groomed to be the manager in st.louis when the time came. He had done everything you could ask in minors, on the bench, etc.

Players respect him for the work he has had to do to get here.

And a Huge HELL NO for Yadi as manager. He has been a reason for a split clubhouse. Yadi's clique and the rest. Your in, ur gold, ur not, you get treated like shite.

I watched that play out, no thanx. His leadership is grossly overrated.

Carp is good.

Hopefully he doesn't throw up at 1B again during the game, that was gross.

Cubs stretch of god awful teams is now over, 4 games vs Braves/Phillies on the road and then 3 at the Brewers.

The Braves home uniform is among the best uniforms in all sports. Such a good uni.

Solid win on the road against a good Braves team.

Yep, beat a pitcher that was very hot of late and the bullpen was lights out, even Kintzler managed to get out with only one ball hit hard.

Looks like the Cubs snapped out of it. Anything can happen before the season ends, but with these injuries piling up, Wild Card is going to be a big accomplishment.

appears we're the likely destination for Donaldson. I get it, but honestly, I think i'd prefer david Freese

Mozeliak put him in as the bench coach last year waiting for the inevitable implosion of Matheny so he'd have him ready to take over at a moments notice.

Brewers got Gio Gonzalez, not sure why though...

quote:

@ESPNStatsInfo
Gio Gonzalez has a 6.53 ERA since the start of June (73rd out of 74 qualified SP during that span, ahead of only Bartolo Colon's 7.01 ERA).

Gonzalez has a 6.75 ERA in 5 career starts at Miller Park, including a 9.82 ERA in 3 starts there over the last 3 seasons.

Throw shite at the wall and hope it sticks I guess.
