Loooks like he had 3 back to back bad games last year....and two of them were to SEC schools that didn't even go the division championship game....

Look again. Louisville lost to UK (41-38) but Jackson had a pretty good game.

I'd rather him than the best player on the best team BS that happens in most years. Sometimes that's then correct choice but too often it's not. You need only go back a year earlier for an example of that.
I prefer when it actually goes to the best player that year regardless of how the team finishes...Jackson, Manziel, Tebow, etc

Of course. He won it last year, and has provided plenty of offense.

It's never going to be right
It's either "who put up video game stats regardless of defense" or "best offensive player on the best team"

He's a great player. I think his performance against us last year is mostly a tribute to Dave Aranda.

After Louisville beats Clemson Saturday, you will be on the "Lamar" bandwagon!

Heisman. Meaning best player in football. Irregardless of stats, he does things that no one in CFB can. He IS the best INDIVIDUAL player. Just not on the best team.

Well, if he had to play the defenses of Auburn, Bama, UF, etc for an entire season and put up similar numbers, his stats would be more impressive.
LSU does play these defenses the entire season. Last year we had our fair share of subpar defenses.

Wait and see how hard he flops in the NFL like every other dual threat in the NFL except for Dak Prescott.
and former NFL MVP Cam Newton. Did Deshan Watson go off tonight? IJS

Every time they bring him up on ESPN radio or TV, they seem to forget the bowl game where LSU had him running like a scared 7 year old girl.
Louisville lost to Houston last year. Lost to Navy. Jackson was still the best player in the country last year. facts.

There are FAAARRR more pro-style flops. HOWEVER, this doesnt match the original post, which deals with what makes ones the BEST player in college, NOT who's going to do better in the NFL.

its all about individual stats...Its not his fault the line didnt hold up against real teams or WR didnt get open..Heisman is about the best player in college ball....so with that said you have to look at stats

I have seen Jackson play live verse our Tigers. He wasn't even the best player on the field much less the best in the nation.

Ask yourself this question. Take Jackson off that team and what do you have?
Top 15 or top 25 team? Not even close

Jesus y'all are really hanging on to that meaningless bowl game

I think he will beat Clemson at home and after what people saw Clemson D do to Auburn it will really boost his stock this season for heisman
Louisville is awesome at home versus ranked teams

And what a lot of these eggheads forget is that he has almost no talent on his yeam.
Tebow and Manziel had offenses loaded with NFL talent. From the OL to the pass catchers to the RBs. Jackson's OL is pure garbage and when he faced a strong front 7, they got ran over.
In his loss to UK he had 281 pass yards 2 tds and 171 rush yards 2 tds.
In his loss to Clemson he had 295 pass yards 1 td and 161 rush yards 2 td.
Put him on a team like Auburn and I bet they go undefeated.

Someone said look at Marriotta and Russell. Yeah look at them, Marriotta doesn't have much to work with so I'll give him credit. And Wilson is good. But there are way more flops of dual threats than good QB's in the NFL. Scouts are already saying he better be good at kick and punt return because they have trouble seeing him touch the QB position at the next level. It's Denard Robinson and Tim Tebow all over again.
I don't know what Lamar Jackson will do in the NFL, but your dual threat nonsense is just that, nonsense. Two of the top guys they are talking about for next year's draft are dual threats. Mayfield is a dual threat. Mahomes, Watson, and Kizer were dual threats. Wentz was/is a dual threat, along with Prescott, Mariota, and Wilson. Andrew Luck ran for 900 yards in college. The NFL is slowly but surely transitioning to mobile/dual threat QBs.
