Wait and see how hard he flops in the NFL like every other dual threat in the NFL except for Dak Prescott.

Mariota? Russell Wilson?

So he had one bad game and we're supposed to say he was undeserving? Funny that same logic wasn't applied on this board to a certain running back from a certain SEC team in 2015... Hmmm...

Yes, he puts up great stats against fair competition, but looks abysmal against legit defensive talent.

Let's tune in on Saturday.

Right now he's averaging 385 yards passing and 120 yards rushing. In 2 games he has 5 passing TDs and 3 rushing.

North Carolina and Purdue may not be defensive powerhouses, but that's pretty freaking impressive.

HIs teammates let him down last year. His receivers dropped so many passes last year, I wish he was on a team that had as much talent as an LSU. This is a stupid question, anyone who can put up those stats deserves the heisman. I hope he wins it again this year.

Did Mettenberger ever win a game that actually mattered?

I just had to go look this up.

Jackson threw for 3540 and ran for 1571....combined 51 TDs

Mett threw for 3080 and ran for a negative 133. For 22 TDs.

Jackson accounted for more than double the scores and 2000 more yards. Pretty close to the same thing

Yes, the Mett analogy needs to be dropped fast or we as posters will look dumber than we actually are

Yes, if he played for LSU and had those stats we would be printing shirts.

He would also have a national championship to go with those stats.

Look, all I'm saying is that that kid is good. But the heisman is a joke. Someone on here said something about one bad game shouldn't cost you the heisman. LOOK AT FOURNETTE. He had one of the most outstanding seasons of all time until Bama and then with bad coaching and game planning and his inability to have blocking that allowed him to do anything lost the trophy. Someone said look at Marriotta and Russell. Yeah look at them, Marriotta doesn't have much to work with so I'll give him credit. And Wilson is good. But there are way more flops of dual threats than good QB's in the NFL. Scouts are already saying he better be good at kick and punt return because they have trouble seeing him touch the QB position at the next level. It's Denard Robinson and Tim Tebow all over again.

ETA: Not saying there is anyone more deserving of the award, but if Shea Patterson keeps his production up, I'd be more impressed with him over Jackson.

Shea Patterson will shite the bed when he hits a real defense just like he did last year.

It's not like he played LSU during the season on his home field, threw 3 picks, rushed for a 1.5 yd per rush, lost the game and still won the Heisman that year.

Oh wait...

If I had to vote right now, it would be Baker Mayfield and then Lamar Jackson.

I will say though that the LSU game made me think less of his abilities, but he seems to dominate pretty much every other team he plays.

Hes 1 of the best players in the country. He ran into a monster with LSU last yr. That team easily couldve been in a huge bowl game or better. There were very few teams that wouldve beaten LSU in a bowl game last year.

So absolutely, hw should be considered. I think he wins it again. Hes a terrific player in a legitimate conference.

Clemson and Florida State. That's it, besides that he gets to pad stats and plays absolute cupcakes

The ACC was 10-4 against the SEC how does this notion that every week in the SEC is like playing the 2000 Ravens and other conferences are cupcakes live on?

His stats are pretty similar to Johnny Manziel's and JFF was playing in tje SEC. put Jackson in the SEC and his numbers are probably around the same as his Louisville numbers . 1 meaningless bowl game not with standing.

Danny Etling wasn't given a chance to succeed against Alabama's stifling d-line effort....
