Kinda cool that the defense got two extra defenders.
Or maybe the offense got an extra blocker?
The posts apparently evened themselves out.

I am a purist that bemoans the change. It all went downhill in this sport after we allowed face masks and uniforms with colors of prancing nancies. I’m not much for the hip hop either.
Eliminating the face mask would pretty much eliminate all targeting.
I have yet to figure out why the goalposts are not made of PVC instead of steel pipe. Seems an unnecessary risk for the unlikely, but inevitable, event fans rush the field.

Bring back leather helmets and watch the number of concussions drop like a stone.

Fans rushing the field are the least of their worries
(Side note, if the NFL can keep fans off of the field after the game why can’t colleges?)
And physics apparently isn’t one of yours. PVC simply can’t go up to that height and withstand wind, balls hitting it, and players hitting it. It’s too light and flimsy

Average age of attendees and the student sections lead to groupthink (lack of individual responsibility). Also rankings are more prominent in college.

I’m glad they didn’t move them until after the Tom Dempsey kick. I was there.

That's probably not true. More than 20% of Aussie rules players have had a concussion.

I'd feel very safe in saying every NFL player has had a concussion at some point in their career.

I'd love for the goal posts to be moved forward again. Offenses would adjust and you can have pads and goal posts that act like hockey nets were if someone hits the base it gives to a certain degree.

Way back in the day, Yankee Stadium had "Monument Park" that consisted of actual monuments in the farther reaches of center field.
I’ve always wondered, but never looked it up…how many players hurt themselves from running into goddamn statues on the field lol

This picture cracks me up. Imagine flipping through some old photos, bragging to your friends that your grandpa played professionally, and one of the pics is him spearing the damn goal post

Fielding Yost coached the Michigan "point-a-minute" teams in the early 1900s. They were stout.
