I was checking out the new odds for World Series winners LINK and one bet that intrigued me was betting on the Red Sox to win it all at +2800. I'm guessing they'll get some pitching, and there are some decent starters on the market, so is it that far fetched to think they have a chance to take it all?

Anyone have any other opinions on longshots that could win it all? The Rays? The Braves? The Marlins? lol

Dont bet on the Astros. Probably one of the worst teams on that list.

A lot of competition to make the WC right now, they need pitching and bullpen

If they win enough games I think they could do it

Could they? Yeah

Is it likely? No

The AL will be a murder's row with the Yankees, Astros, and Twins all in the way. Even if they somehow make it out the AL it'll be the Dodgers or if they shite the bed the Braves

The Twins will crump as it gets closer, the Yankees and Astros will not - the Rays and Indians are also pretenders. Its mostly a two horse race between MFY and HOU. Red Sox have need of a starter, a LH RP and another BP arm in general. They have one AAA LHP in the pen, that's it. I am not optimistic, but who knows.

Yes. They have one of the top offenses in all of baseball, #1 in runs scored, I think. Sale has definitely pitched a lot better, especially considering his first 5 or so starts of the season, and David Price has pitched very good so far. Problem is, after that, they're just trash, bullpen included. They just need to be barely average pitching with the offense they have, but after Sale & Price, they're horrible. They’re moving Eovaldi to the bullpen for what that’s worth. They need to acquire pitching, but it’s doable.
