It would be nice but sadly A-level free agents don’t sign in markets like NOLA no matter who is on the roster.

Just ask yourself how many top free agents did Cleveland acquire while Lebron was there.

Can't do it without serious cap maneuvers. Would need to dump Solo and Moore into capspace somewhere, at a minimum.

Why does everyone think New Orleans is attractive to a free agent? LA, New York, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Brooklyn are attractive cities for a player first. That’s the problem with the NBA.

Agreed. It all depends on Davis. Zion isn’t enough to draw players yet. If Davis signs, AD+Jrue + up and coming Zion should start to pull some shooters chasing a ring.

Looking at it objectively unless Davis can somehow join Kyrie and KD in NY, New Orleans easily offers the best combination of roster and money in the near term.

Then you have your Golden State and Houston they will go to cause of the pieces in play there. Zion is still an unproven college kid. Yes he is the pick everyone is talking about but I don’t see big vets chasing him in free agency.

I was just responding to a hypothetical. In no way do I think Durant would even look this way.

Yeah but, what about all this time living on the planet where Jrue Holiday obviously wasnt playing on a max deal and everyone knew that?

Do you remember when we signed him? Are you telling me that at any point someone said "We gave Jrue the Max"?

All good man. I just follow the pels a ton and followed the Jrue contract negotiations. I also am aware of most of the NBA rules, which are complicated in themselves.
Which is probably why that site got it wrong. I doubt Woj did, that seems like a misquote.

Durant is not coming. If they are going to spend that much on a contract try to get Butler fro sixers. Better fit for ZION. Trade AD for Memphis #2 pick straight up (and whatever else you can get) and draft Morant.

With Holiday, there is your super team, draft depth at center/guard.

No links, no inside scoop just thinking.

Three bigs though?

Not enough room in the paint.

Durant plays more guard than "in the paint" for GS.
Only time he goes in the paint is when he gets a switch and a true gurad is on him.

Hes NOT a true "big" other than his height

You mean someone like WOj and reported by SI on July 2017 in the link below as posted by the guy you responded to?

Jrue Holiday, Pelicans agree to five-year, $126 million max contract

Jrue Holiday will stay put in New Orleans after agreeing to a five-year, $126 million max deal with the Pelicans, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The fact the Pelicans are paying Solomon Hill 13 million a year makes me want to crawl in a hole

Yeah I can remember the signings of Solo and E'twan the same year for $12-$13 million a year each and they were both averaging something like 2.8 points a game and I was wondering WTF?

I think E'Twan had some good moments, still not worth what he was paid IMHO...but Solo......Geez.

Lol if you think the New Orleans ownership can pay luxury tax on two max/supermax deals

The answer is a resounding NO

ETA: take stupid shite like this back to Pels talk where it belongs. More realistic question is can they even afford to keep AD, or does he even want to be there?
