Sign Zion

Keep AD

Sign Durant

Since the super team model seems to be the way to go, can the Pels pull something like this off?

2/3 of them

You have a max contract in Jrue, Zion will be on a rookie but expensive deal, you can still sign AD to the Super

Randle opts out
trade moore's deal
trade solos expiring

It is possible but Durant would never come here.

Note: Jrue is not on a max deal.

Understood..but he sure would get some open looks and be a matchup nightmare when Z and AD were in the game.

Report: Jrue Holiday, Pelicans agree to five-year, $126 million max contract

Jrue Holiday, Pelicans agree to five-year, $126 million max contractJrue Holiday will stay put in New Orleans after agreeing to a five-year, $126 million max deal with the Pelicans, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Holiday’s deal has incentives that can make it total $150 million and contains a fifth-year player option. The two sides met as free agency began and came to terms. The Pelicans had long made re-signing Holiday their priority in free agency.

I don't know what to tell you bro. That is wrong.
Pels could have offered him a 5 year 176 deal. We didn't.

We had is bird rights.

LINK

Jrue could have gotten 5/176 for those that needed proof that poster was right.

Yes, rookie cap hold in effect with cap space projections which is now ~$22-25m

Yes, his cap number and the post trade cap number will be within ~$5m

Not without serious maneuvering. Have to dump Moore and Hill expirings to consider it. Plus he's a 10+ year max which is the biggest one. If they go for a max player, it would be more likely the Kemba or Tobias Harris tier.

Why does everyone think New Orleans is attractive to a free agent? LA, New York, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Brooklyn are attractive cities for a player first. That’s the problem with the NBA. Then you have your Golden State and Houston they will go to cause of the pieces in play there. Zion is still an unproven college kid. Yes he is the pick everyone is talking about but I don’t see big vets chasing him in free agency.
