With the blame going to everybody except him, how is any OC supposed to game plan with how inaccurate he is?

Below are the 4 NFCS QBs #s and without their RBs "checkdowns" (technically 5 since I'm adding Fitzpatrick). People here trash Brees for being captain checkdown, but remove his RBs and look where he still ranks in accuracy to his WR/TEs. Look at Matt Ryan (still above average).

Drew Brees: 386 completions, 536 attempts, 72.01%
Kamara-Ingram-Peterson (RBs) accounted for: 141 completions, 174 attempts, 81.03%
Drew Brees w/o RBs: 245 completions, 362 attempts, 67.68%
- Would go from 1st to 1st

Matt Ryan: 342 completions, 529 attempts, 64.65%
Freeman-Coleman-Ward (RBs) accounted for: 66 completions, 88 attempts, 75.00%
Matt Ryan w/o RBs: 276 completions, 441 attempts, 62.59%
- Would go from 8th to 15th

Jameis Winston + Ryan Fitzpatrick: 378 completions, 605 attempts, 62.48%
Sims-Barber-Martin-Rodgers (RBs) accounted for: 69 completions, 96 attempts, 71.86%
JW+RF without RBs: 309 completions, 509 attempts, 60.71%
- Would go from 17th to 24th

Cam Newton: 291 completions, 492 attempts, 59.15%
CMC-Stewart-Fozzy-CAP (RBs) accounted for: 94 completions, 135 attempts, 69.23%
Cam Newton w/o RBs: 197 completions, 357 attempts, 55.18%
- Would go from 28th to 30th

31st being Beatherd @ 54.9%, 32nd being Kizer @ 53.6%
That is fricking horrendous.

he has a career avg of 58.5.

only went over 60% once. pretty bad in today's % numbers.

idk bro... Cam was dropping dimes on that field last sunday. very, very strong throwing ability. dropped passes, dropped touchdown and his line did him no favors.

there may be a lot of issues with cam, but his ability to sling the rock is not one of them.

He just isnt very accurate at throwing the ball at all.

His proponents will say his running capabaility makes up for that.

I simply disagree. It is more important for a qb to throw the ball well than run it. You need that position to open up opportunities as the game goes on.

For example, his proponents will say his 10 yard run makes up for him missing his 10 yard pass due to inaccuracy.

I say, the 10 yard pass would have opened up more for the offense than his 10 yard run does

You are just going to ignore his career completion %?

He has a cannon, but he is very inaccurate for a modern qb

Donovan McNabb and Eli Manning are having a session to help Cam Newton with his accuracy.

He had a good game. He is talented, it will happen sometimes. Most of the time he can't throw worth a shite.

He's also working with one of the worst O lines and receivers in the league.

I'm not saying that he's very accurate, but put him on the Falcons or saints and his numbers would look a good bit better

One game where he had his arguably best passing game in a long time, yet he only completed 60% of his passes. How many dropped were there, 2? 65.0%, for one game.

Lets just say this:

Atlanta Falcons
- Led the league with 30 dropped passes

Carolina
- 25th with 16

Go ahead and add those completions to Cam, he goes from 59.15% to 62.40%.

While you can go do the same for Ryan, 64.65% to 70.32%

What? How can you completely ignore the facts that are laid out in front of you? Heck, even the old "eye test" will tell you how inaccurate he is on intermediate throws. His biggest problem to me -- and I'm no QB guru -- is he has 0 feel for touch. Every ball he throws it seems like he throws it as hard as he can and it causes him to miss high on a large number of his throws.

It's also more important for a qb to actually be on the field and have consistency and longevity in play and performance because what good's a dual-threat qb who has accuracy issues and can't remain on the field because of all the risk he assumes when he runs like Cam runs? maybe a debilitating injury occurs who knows? Bottom-line: Cam needs to elevate his game, Russell Wilson runs around a ton too just he's hella more accurate throughout his career than Cam's been.

It would help if his receivers actually caught balls thrown in their general vicinity. Cam actually played pretty damn solid in the Saints game.

His line had 2 pro bowlers in 2015 and he still completed 59.8%

Drew Brees has one pro bowl receiver in his career and that's this year Plus he's 38 and just finished a season completing at 72%.

I mean I hope no one is comparing Brees to Newton in accuracy. One is the most accurate of all time and one...isn't
