4 years of refusing to speak with the NCAA....Why didn't he speak the untold truth then? How about now?
quote:
Bush, 25, wouldn’t speak to specifics in the case, saying he couldn’t get into details. He neither confirmed nor denied that any of the accusations were true.
"I believe that there's a lot of untold truth to this matter," he said. "There's a lot of fabricated lies to this matter but it is what it is and I can't sit here and cry about it. I can't sit here and make up excuses. Ultimately, it's a responsibility that's placed on USC and my shoulders. It's because of me."
Several times, Bush said he would do whatever it takes to correct the situation and make things right, adding that he believes that everything happens for a reason and that everyone can come back stronger.

yeah that's why you paid so much money to not have to testify

I think we already knew that part in regards to the sanctions.

Step 1 - avoid any specifics that would be relevant
Step 2 - invoke God somehow

“All I can do is continue to try to help them and move forward with the situation,” Bush said. “Like I said, I think God works in mysterious ways and at the end of the day I think this, too, shall pass and hopefully we can grow stronger from this and hopefully everything will come to pass.”

dude just needs to shut up and go away at this point. If he wants to do something positive, set up a fund to pay for the 30 scholarships that would have been going to football players so kids from the SC neighborhood can go to school there. Of course, that would involve admitting he fricked up, which isn't going to happen

Funny how the only person involved in this who hasn't been spewing a bunch of ridiculous nonsense is Kiffen.

He and Garrett were good for some idiocy the other day - things along the lines of "Nothing to see here, move along - they're all just jealous of USC"

Translation: The cat is out of the bag so all I can do now is convince everyone that there is more to it than meets the eye and hope they accept this on blind faith. I am the victim because I say I am.

He shoudl have spoken to the NCAA earlier. But it woudl NOT be a good idea to speak specifics now with USC appealing and perhaps, suing the NCAA

are the admins at USC really dumb enough to sue?
folks at bama have already shown the success rate of obstinate resistance

California has some kind of law that plays into this.

Yeah, it's called Murphy's Law.
They best take their medicine.
With the sanctions turning out to be more severe than anyone thought, I can only imagine how severe the violations actually were.

if USC sues the NCAA the NCAA will rejoice because they will finally be able to depose reggie, pete, the assistant coaches, the agents, the managers, etc etc etc

at some point before they go to court an adult will take a step back and stop that from happening

I think there are a lot of adults at USC that want litigation.
It's a pissing contest between the NCAA and USC about USC's lax policies regarding compliance, and what the NCAA viewed as a lack of cooperation in it's investigation.
There was more than a hint of vindictiveness in the sanctions. 30 scholarships is probably excessive.
Forfeiture of games that ineligible players played in is perfectly understandable, and perhaps a few scholarships with probation, but 30 is way over the top for "you pissed us off and didn't cooperate".
USC won't win an NCAA appeal, at least not on it's own merit. USC may well win a lawsuit if the law shows they were unfairly dealt with.

Will the scholarship limitations be in place for this upcoming recruiting class or will it wait until after any appeals from SC ?
Posted on 6/17/10 at 8:01 am to Grabo
No sanctions will be executed until the appeals process is finished. USC is not wasting time in getting their appeal finished, and/or preparing to litigate.
Obviously the longer the process of appeals/sanctions takes to play out, the more negative impact it will have on recruiting, which really is the teeth of the punishment anyway.
