I mean I’m sure Josh Allen is comforted when his highly ranked regular season defense loses a playoff game where he scored 38 points and gave them the lead with 13 seconds and they blew it

Or last year when they allow 27 points to a chiefs offense that was horrible

What matters for these top QBs is the playoffs

The bills defense crumbles while Allen gets better

The bengals defense gets elite and burrow gets slightly worse

This isnt an argument about Josh Allen’s and the Bills failures in the playoffs.

It’s about the comment that Allen has played with worse defenses than Burrow has. And theirs just no real statistics that back that claim up.

They choked against the Chiefs twice. That sucks. That doesn’t mean his defense is bad. Especially when the statistics show they are elite. Elite people/teams have bad games.

They almost did get to the top. They were one stop on defense away from winning a title.

Using a 2 game sample size and saying it’s an average is idiotic and not factually accurate.

Not factually accurate? Did you pass the 3rd grade? You can make a sample size argument but that doesn’t mean it’s not an average

And what he’s saying is 100% correct. The Bills defense chokes in the playoffs and the Bengals play insane. Trey Hendrickson turns into Lawrence Taylor every time he plays the Chiefs

Statistically can’t have a factual average without 3 samples

Bills choking in the playoffs does not equal the Bengals having a better defense. Having a bad game doesn’t erase the reality of an entire season.

Lamar Jackson having a poor playoff performance while Baker Mayfield has a good one, even if it was against the same team, doesn’t make him a better QB.

This argument is silly. Yall are just wrong. The Bills have had an elite defense and have had a bad performance or 2 in the playoffs.

You are spewing nonsense. There’s no such thing as a “factual average”.

Statistical significance (reliability) steadily increases as sample size increases. There is no cutoff where something becomes “true” or “false”

What he posted was an average by any definition

Again, the idiot you're arguing with has a hard-on for Burrow.

He started multiple threads trashing Burrow in summer 2020.

Mahomes won a Super Bowl with a bunch of no name guys At WR.

But he had Kelce, a great defense, and most importantly and most relevant to this conversation, Andy Reid. Mahomes is already an all-time great, no doubt. But do the Chiefs have any less success with Burrow instead? Probably not. I’ll throw Pride a bone too and say they’d have had similar success with Allen too.

quote:

If Mahomes had had Chase and Higgins over the last three seasons, he’d be going for 4 in a row instead of just 3.

For the Chiefs and their setup, probably so. But would he be if he played for the Bengals and Taylor? Probably not.

This is why these conversations are so difficult to have. QBs don’t play QBs. Teams play teams. And a successful QB and HC are typically tied together. People argued for 15 years if it was Brady or Belicheck. When it was clearly both. Together.

But I’ve never known what to think about Taylor. People thought he was terrible before Burrow got there. He did coach the team to the worst record in the league and the 1st pick in the draft after all. And we saw at LSU how Burrow can elevate a coach or mask their deficiencies. So is Burrow doing that to Taylor? But then there was this sudden change in the perception of him and everybody started saying he’s a great offensive coach who just needed a QB. I honestly don’t know enough about the intricacies of his system or game planning or whatever to really have an educated opinion. I’d assume it’s somewhere in the middle, but to which side it leans and how much, I have no idea.

And that's just threads that you've started.

But man, I forgot how hard you leaned into trying to troll LSU fans over Arik Gilbert, and how much of a pussy you turned into when Gilbert never took a snap for Georgia.
