Well, no one really does that. But the Warriors are most equipped to have a shot to contain him than most other teams currently and historically. They're not exactly slouches at perimetere defense.

Pippen would have
Jordan on Thompson
Harper on Iggy

Then rotated to Jordan then back to Pippen

They'd would've had Kerr on him when he came in, but it would only be short spurts.

Why are you laughing? I guess you never watched how Chicago ran their Defense.

Watch how they guarded Payton

I think Pippen would struggle more than guys think because of how much Steph runs off of screens off the ball.

I'd let Steph get his and not help. You get into trouble. Steph can't beat you alone. Just like Jordan can't beat you alone.

You have to turn him at least 2 times everytime. Pippen could do that.

This is the issue. You have no choice but to help or Steph will roam free off of illegal screens.

Not even talking about how good he is, Payton played offensively nothing like Curry does.

Let him roam free he alone can't win a game.

Problem is that goes against everything you're taught, but you have to control KT in a series.

He would get 70 easy if you let him roam free. He literally doesnt miss if you leave him unguarded

confirmed. RT @darrenrovell: ESPN's Tom Friend says Steph Curry made 77 straight 3-pointers today in practice, 94 out 100

And if he gets 70 and the rest go for 20-35 you got a chance to win. It's the same with Jordan everytime he went off the Bulls lost.

Now we're comparing Payton to Curry? How are their games even remotely comparable? Payton wasn't a great 3-point shooter.

Now think about a 6'8" forward trying to guard a more explosive, much faster, better ball handler who is 6'3" who can also pull up a 3-point shot better than anyone in NBA history and he is probably 34 feet away from the basket.

All Curry needs to do is one move and he has enough room for that shot.

You can double team him, but Klay Thompson is a better 3-point shooter than any of the Bulls.

My point is the Bulls gameplan would be high-risk/high-reward. Either they stifle the Warriors or they get the doors blown off of them.

The theory is to make him work bringing it up. You guys are forgetting what helps Curry initiate if you make him turn and make him give it up earlier then he's done the job.

Pippen was routinely on others 1 to harass bringing it up.

I agree with what you are saying, I was just making a tongue-in-cheek comment. The best defensive plan against the warriors is stick to the basic principles of defense and not get caught up in all these fancy switcheroos. I haven't looked it up recently but I believe every game that Curry has went off the games have been really close.

If you go research my post history in Spurs series few years ago I've always said control Thompson more than Curry. Thompson is what makes them deadly.

You gotta remember, Curry is having uber-efficient 40 and 50 point games while getting all of the attention.

It's being advocated to give him no extra attention, that would only serve to make him even more efficient, fwiw.

In a series it's easier to defend than a reg season game also. In a Final I think you'd be more willing to go over instead of under. You go under its death by 3.
