Multiple big league stadiums are financed with taxpayer money. It’s rather astounding how many actually are.

Texans stadium was 70+% publicly funded. Check out this link and scroll to the bottom. Same goes for the Titans.

Buffalo has a good case to steal the blue jays which seem to be searching for a home. Don’t be surprised if the Blue Jays try to leverage Austin soon enough as well

Our MLS team blows. When the newness wears off we will see how devoted and loyal our fans are. Bills fans are some of the best in the league. The NFL isn’t turning their backs on that. I say this as someone who has personally traveled from Austin to Buffalo for a Bills game

There is no way in hell that Jerry & the McNair family would allow another NFL franchise in Texas but I guarantee you that are in on the squeeze & keeping quiet in order to help the Bills in their negotiations.

Austin Buffs would be better.

But again, this team needs to be in Buffalo. It’s a damn shame when great fanbases lose their teams. Oakland is another example, but I can’t blame Davis for leaving that shithole.

Unless Austin is willing to pony up the cash for a stadium, I can’t see how else they leverage the place. It’s been established that the Alamodome in San Antonio isn’t up to modern NFL standards. What other cities would you look at?

Jerrah will block that.

Also the people’s republic of Austin might spend 1.5b in public funds for homeless shelters but not for sports

The NFL gets most of their money from TV contracts and the like.

The league has proven time and time again that it doesn’t give one single frick about the fans.

Hell, Buffalo is a small market and not a very good city. The NFL is probably itching to get out of there and into. A larger market.
