Per Ian Rapoport (idiot) of Pardon My Take this morning.

The Browns should be lucky it didn't go through. Why make this trade when you have someone like Kizer you can possibly develop? What has McCarron shown for someone to trade away what will be two very high picks in their rounds because the Browns will probably go winless or close to winless?

Insane.

Also, for your troubles, Katherine Webb

Patriots either wanted JG out the AFC or didn't want to end his career like that.

Kizer isn’t going to develop playing for the browns. Bottom half starter at best

Somebody is having a good time with the Browns' Stadium Wikipedia page:

quote:

FirstEnergy Stadium, officially The Pit of Misery, Home of the Cleveland Browns, is a factory of sadness in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, primarily for torture. It is the home field of the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL), and serves to destroy the hopes and dreams of unsuspecting Clevelanders. As the pain rains down upon these desperate souls, a chant of ‘’dilly dilly’’ can be heard coming from the owners suite. It opened in 1999 as Cleveland Browns Stadium and was renovated in two phases in early 2014 and 2015. The initial seating capacity was listed at 73,200 people, but following the first phase of the renovation project in 2014, seating capacity was reduced to 67,431. Since 2017, capacity is listed at 67,895. The stadium sits on 31 acres (13 ha) of land between Lake Erie and the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway in the North Coast Harbor area of downtown Cleveland, adjacent to the Great Lakes Science Center and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The site was previously the location of Cleveland Stadium from 1931 to 1996.[10][11]

It speaks volumes that Notre Dame has gotten significantly better after Kizer left for the NFL. Reminds me of how Penn State took off after Hackenburg left.

Hugh Jackson was his old coach. So I assume he knows if he can play or not.

McCarron is still under contract for another season before you have to commit to him long term so his value was higher in that situation

But that trade package was the exact same one they offered for Jimmy during the draft according to the same interview referenced in the OP

The best summary of it I heard

quote:

The sneaky best part of this is they were trying to trade for AJ McCarron. Like if the Browns have anything they have a plethora of shitty quarterbacks that show random flashes of being good. Why would you need ANOTHER guy like that. They basically were trying to trade for more sand for their beach on shite island.

Give Hugh Jackson 3 years with Lamar Jackson and see how that goes.
