Gase teams got worse. Flores teams got better. And that's after they had to trade their all pro LT and S
Of course the team is gonna get worse when your starting scrubs like Brock Osweiler and a washed up Jay Cutler

Yea but didn’t Daboll interview before the minority coaches? If so you could make an argument that, depending on when BB was told about Daboll, that maybe the other candidates weren’t given serious consideration.

Is the rule that they have to give minorities serious consideration for open jobs, or just that they have to interview minorities?/

I hire people for a living, and I can tell you, I basically know who I want by going through the resume's.

The interview can convince me NOT to hire someone, but an interview has rarely convinced me TO hire someone.

It could come down to something simple, like the Giants wanted an offensive minded coach who could work with QBs like Daboll (ostensibly) worked with Allen and Hurts/Tua at Bama. Maybe they looked at how Flores couldn't get jack crap out of Tua and that was their criteria.

Who knows? The only people who know what they're looking for is the Giants, and it's their money on the line, so why does anyone have a say in who they hire? They could've said "we want a fat head coach". It's their money, their franchise, why should anybody else have a say in how fat their coach is?

Point is Bill confirmed Daboll was their guy before the requirements were met for the rule.

The media is falling all over themselves to say how brave and courageous Flores is, it’s cracking me up.

Chris Mortensen called it the most courageous and “necessary” thing he’s seen in 50 years covering the NFL.

Yea, not sure of that above point. There's likely no chance the rule allows you to openly have a guy picked just to give a token interview to someone to satisfy the rule.

Flores in a non clown world would have just fricked over Minorities big time.

Had the same thought. Who would want to hire a minority now? If it doesn’t work out, it will always be because of race.

I guarantee this wouldn't happen if the NFL didn't have the affirmative action Rooney Rule horseshite. That said, I think Bienemy, Leftwich, and Flores are ripe for HC jobs now, I'm shocked Miami cut reins so quick on him.

Point is Daboll wasn't "officially" hired until after those interviews.

If you don't want sham interviews to comply with the Rooney Rule, get rid of the the Rooney Rule. These are multi-billion dollar organizations, they are going to hire the person that they think is the best for the job, whether they are black, white, asian, indian, purple, or green.

Thats not how it works the alternative to the sentence you just wrote is them interviewing Flores after they’ve already hired a HC officially

Until a hire is official, it's not official. So you can have a "favorite", and still conduct other interviews.

Frankly this isn’t on the giants. It the nfl and their stupid requirements. They had Diboll as the hire from the start but they had to do a bunch of time wasting check box nonsense. The cowboys will have to do the same when the inevitably hire Sean. Lesson is just interview the minority candidates off the bat.

There's no way that would fly, no chance the NFL would say that passes the Rooney Rule check.

I don’t think that Flores is saying the Rooney rule was broken. I mean the Rooney rule is an NFL rule, not an actual law.

I think His point is that he was interviewed solely because of the color of his skin and never had an actual shot

Until he's officially hired, things can change. Is it against the rules to have a favorite during the hiring process?

If you want to say NYG can just deny it and maybe get away with it, sure.

But there's no way NYG can go be investigated for this, and say, "Sure we knew we were going to hire Daboll before we satisfied the Rooney Rule"
