The US tried some attacks in the second half, but nothing could really come out of it because Davies dribbled into swarms of defenders or made bad passes. With the right forward up top, Bradley's strategy could have worked, but he knows that he lacks that kind of personnel, so I put the failure on him rather than Davies.

The team works at its best when Donovan and sometimes Dempsey dominate position, but they had to stay back more because Feilhaber-Clark is a pretty weak central midfield, especially once Feilhaber gets tired.

Given the team that was out there, I am not sure if they could have done much better, but the important thing to remember is that a better team could have been out there (despite the injuries and the Jones situation).

Disagree with that. Whenever we got the ball, Brazil was all over our asses. They played well defensively in the second half.

This team deserved to win today, but there was a noticeable drop off in attitude from the first half to the second, but I guess stating that fact is being a "bad american".

Agree that Davies killed a lot of our counters.

Our problems lie in our bench/coach. We have a pretty good starting line-up, no reason CASEY should go in over Adu...

Yeah, if Charlie is playing, he should be on the wing and not up top. He's going to just try to blaze by people and loses the ball most of the time.

that's what I'm saying, we are good when we have the shut out, but as soon as we let one in..it's a complete change in tactics.

no, im not

when we played good posession soccer, we outplayed spain

it looked bad because bob went into shell mode, and howard saved our asses, plain and simple

if we would have played real soccer up until the 75th or 80th minute it wouldnt have appeared that way

Davies would be an excellent sub, a Nick Bendtner spark off the bench .

If Davies had anything resembling a first touch, he might actually be decent.

Nick Bendtner knows how to score against crummy teams, we could have used that against Hondy or El Salvador or Costa Rica.

We need to go into Azteca and rip Mexico's heart out
and hold it aloft to the gods...

...and kick their lifeless body down the pyramid.

That is all.

Kenny Cooper seems like the cold-blooded man to do this.
