how is my math off? 24 games left. If you have 40 pts on this game, you lose 40 points? You have 0 plays above that number. Someone have 1 pt will lose 24 pts from it. So come out ahead 16 pts. i was backwards sorry been working too hard

Can this just be counted as an auto-win for everyone and whatever points you picked, you add that to the total score?

That would be a fricked up way to do it too.

Take the confidence points for the BC/Boise game and put them towards the highest confidence point game they have remaining. That’s my suggestion for the pool I’m in and seems like the most fair thing to do IMO

I like ATH’s idea. It’s too difficult to get everyone to redistribute points to all remaining games (if that was an option).

I just looked at the group I'm in on espn and they counted it as a loss for everyone.
I'm currently in third. First place guy had Boise for 21, second place guy had them for 35!
I picked Boise for 14.

If you have 40 points on it, then you lose 40 points for the game, and the rest of your games remain the same.
If you have 1 point on it, then you lose 1 point for the game, and you lose 1 point for each of the 39 games higher than it, for a total of 40 points.
If you put 24 on it, you lose 24 points for the game, then 1 point for each of the 16 games higher than it, for a total of 40 points.

Count it as a loss or just don’t include it
Play it how Vegas and books do it

Thank you, exactly how this should work.

i thought he was talking about remaining games. That would a nightmare to rescore.
Posted on 12/26/18 at 3:30 pm to RoscoeHarper
Yea there’s mathematically no fairer way than Roscoe suggested. It’s just also the most time consuming to correct for the person running the pool, which I don’t mind

Yeah it sucks for you. I can't imagine there's a real easy way to do that.
Posted on 12/26/18 at 3:38 pm to RoscoeHarper
Could just add another cell assuming youre using excel and take total score minus wins. You only have to subtract the wins realistically. Guess that would be harder considering the pts for BC game. yea sucks to be the scorer

Yeah I'm probably gonna be the one that has to end up doing it for my family and friends pool which is probably about 30 entries lol. Gonna be time consuming but I'll just knock it out in a night. Tasks like that tend to not be as bad once you start doing the work as your mind made it out to be when you were thinking about it beforehand

While I think roscoe has the best solution so far, it doesn't mean that someone isn't getting screwed.

I’m in an ESPN pool and it just is counting the game as an L for everyone.
Posted on 12/26/18 at 4:13 pm to McCaigBro69
That is a terrible way to do it.
I just looked and that's what is happening with ours too. Hopefully we can get it fixed.
