That’s bc the Catholic/Religious schools and Karr being an open enrollment school in greater NOLA area. Karr should never lose.

Basically Karr can get anyone from Nola area AND THEY DONT HAVE TO COME UP WITH 10K TUITION.

People complain about Catholic schools and Curtis “recruiting” but at the end of the day someone needs to come up with the $ to actually run the school. Outside of maybe Jesuit, the rest don’t have the $ or boosters to cover a ton of free tuition.

Did central and Ruston really do a running clock in second half of a state title game
That’s embarrassing for the sport
rules call for it after a 42 point differential. Would have happened to Catholic in 1990. and several other teams along the way if the rule had been in place.

The others have free tuition and free transportation if you run fast enough, throw hard enough, hit hard enough or can make a three. Don’t kid yourself.
Not for the whole teams and at most schools the parents that are paying tuition aren't crazy about the kids getting work assist or even free carte blanche. It's a lot less now since a few schools got hammered for doing it. If you know different name names and let the LHSAA know.

The current system is more balanced now than it has been in YEARS - considering how close all the other games were kinda proves this.
Two teams got punched in the mouth early and let the games get away from them. it happens.

You are correct the # 1 high school team in the country Mater Dei out of Santa Ana California rolled to a 37 - 15 victory over Concord De La Salle.

Idk if I should tell y’all a dirty little secret here…

But so does everyone else in Orleans Parish

So can we (and Zachary and Central in BR area) in nonselect if we choose not to enforce our zones.

Think about this. Why would Neville want to go charter if they didn’t think it would help them on the field?

Small schools may not want to hear this but the South Plaq championship is probably the most legit of all. Nobody driving way out there (not to mention they probably lose players to Karr and Shaw)

From five divisions to eight turns state championships from legitimate to participation trophies. What a ridiculous statement.

Even 5 divisions isn’t legit.

It should be 4.

They don’t need 75 kids - they need 12 for football and 5/6 for baseball. They already had athletes/good players at those schools who pay to go. I know bc I have 7 cousins kids that play at various Catholic schools and some of them were recruited to play there and some play their own way. One school used to run a bus to LaPlace. LOL

Buddy of mine’s son is a sophomore at Ruston. He said he tried calling the police for a beat down on his team.

Thinking we have too many state champions when three high schools on the West Bank won titles (South Plaq, Shaw, Karr)

Buddy said it was still a good experience, they went last year and saw Ruston win. He said after the game there were central fans yelling “Suck that Wildcat d*** bitch” He said he stopped and asked the guy to pull it out and let him see it. Said they all just stared at him in disbelief and walked off and his wife is still mad about him saying that

Apparently it was a long ride home

Eta: Knowing him I’m not surprised at all

back when we only had 5 the westbank had 2

2008 South Plaquemines 62, Christian Life 16
Cyril Crutchfield (13-1) Warren Capone (12-2)
2008 Belle Chase 28, Shaw7
Bob Becnel (12-1) Scott Bairnfather (9-5)

a few time EBR has had 3

8 is way better than 9 or even 10 like was first suggested.

Damn that’s crazy. They should have gotten a hotel and stayed overnight. But maybe they didn’t have the funds for it. Having to get your players up that early the day of a game sucks — that can definitely have an adverse effect on the players.

Jesuit almost beat Catholic at Tulane stadium with less than that. I was at game. My cousin’s boy played OLB and paid his own way. He could have started for anyone and was going to Jesuit regardless. LOL

5/6 plus what they already have. My word. They already got studs on the baseball team paying their own way. Geez.

Sounds like they quit with one game left
——————
Was it a money issue at Ruston high school as the reason they didn’t get a hotel? Or has the money in Ruston shifted to Cedar Creek?
