SDST and UCF are going to the Big East too.

Athletics aside, Boise has no business being in a conference with these other schools. These are all doctoral granting research institutions. Boise doesn't fit in at all.
These conferences are supposed to include schools that fall in line with their academic missions. That, along with the geography, makes this new "Big East" seem fricking retarded.

Going to the Big East gives them a legitimate schedule?
Not really they probably end up with something like
West Virginia
Houston
Cincinnati
SMU
SDST
UCF
Louisville
Rutgers
+4 OOC
They will actually have to show up to play in most of those games, so it is a step up. But just a step up from terrible to really bad. They will still need at least one really good OOC game a year or two solid OOC games.

I dont see how Pitt & Syracuse will be able to leave next year & West Virginia not being able to do the same. I'm thing all three will be in the Big East next year since the others are coming into 2013.

WVU is audi next year,Pitt&Cuse will bolt in turn.
The new football members joined on Marinatto's promise the Conference will keep it's A.Q. status.

I'm gonna laugh if they do join the Big East, only for that conference to lose their AQ status in the next year or so.....
Adding Houston, Central Florida and Boise State will guarantee that the Big East keeps its AQ status when it comes up for renewal because the Big East will get the benefit of everything they've done in recent years.

lolwut?
You do realize the Big East complete shite, right? And this just adds to the shittiness. They need to lose their AQ ASAP.
I hope SDSU fans enjoy traveling cross-country for every game.

the thing that's crazy is if you would have taken
Utah
TCU
BYU
Boise
SDSU
Houston
UCF
and added them to the current Big East. You'd have a conference that's significantly better than the ACC IMO
the other left for greener pastures though

This will kill their recruiting.
Boise got screwed when Utah TCU and BYU decided to leave the MWC after they joined, that conference would of been much stronger than this Big East conference

I know Memphis has wanted a Big East invite for a while, if they had a decent football program I think they would've got in.

10 years ago, only 2 of those teams were in the Big East...

Navy and Air Force are expected to join later on.
The article I read earlier today said;
Big East East
Rutgers
Cincinnati
UConn
UCF
USF
Navy
Big East West
Boise St.
SMU
San Diego St.
Air Force
Houston
Louisville

Guess we'll find out how much Louisville's elite soccer program really means to the university when they're spending all that money for them to travel to California and Nevada to play conference games.

Not to mention splitting up Louisville and Concy makes no sense. But people around here are thrilled.
