Yeah but that appears to Knight - how sensitive he is.

You do know Knight and Alford talked about once every 2 weeks while he was at SMS. Coach Sam (Coach Alford's father) was the major reason Knight and Alford never split though.

The kid who posed for the calendar was Alford. Alford was aware of the rules and broke them. I don't remember anything about Alford's dad having to be restrained. That sounds inaccurate.

Man, you are tough, gritty, old school.

Now tell me, if you had a son, how happy you would be if he played for Knight. Come on man, give me the fricking line! Say it! Say it!

What's wrong with Knight? He was a winner and sounds like he was a good leader of young men and his players seemed to like him.

I understand he had a temper, but he was completely fake like a few other coaches i can think of.

The multiple acts of assault he has committed. He's a textbook bully.

I assume you mean "wasn't" completely fake. And if that's the case, I'm guessing that his protégé Coach K is one of the ones you're thinking of.

No, I actually like coach k. I was thinking more along the lines of the guys coaching in Chapel Hill and Lexington.

Disagree. He doesn't really try to play down the slimeball aspect. I certainly can see why people don't like him, but I don't find him to be inauthentic.

Obviously I know what it is. Unfortunately for you, it's a lot more to it than just picking and passing.

Take this for what it's worth. I can't defend everything he has ever done or said but I've met him several times. One of my friends fathers is very close to coach knight having gone to high school with him. When he was at IU he had a 100% graduation rate. Every year he donated the piece of his salary that cam from Nike in the form of a shoe contract to the library. I know of several people who were in need of help after being financially strapped due to medical conditions that he gave a lot to. When his high school was in need of a donation to finish a new gymnasium he ponied up over 100k so they could finish the job. Is he a saint? No he isn't but those of you that think you know him based on what you see in public flat out do not know what you are talking about.
