Bobby Bowden had to have been one of the most fun coaches to play for. Great coach and even better personality. His players loved him.

College football was just more fun when the coaches like Bowden had some personality.
The Spurrier/Bowden series when both were leading UF/FSU were great for entertainment. I loved that rivalry so much with both great teams.

When he was at West Virginia he offered Nick Saban a job as a GA on his staff. His father had just died and he offered the job to be closer to his mother. Rest is peace coach and what a life you lived.

He came to FSU in 1976 and by 1981 he said it’s time to put this program on the map with a schedule that was brutal. 5 straight road games against national powers… it did wonders for his program.

One of college footballs greats. Still remember the game where FSU kept getting holding calls and Erin Andrews asked him what he was gonna tell his team at halftime. He said “start praying” lol.

RIP Coach Bowden. Those UF FSU games in the 90s defined my childhood growing up.

ESPN radio Sunday morning. The host just said that Bowden arrived at FSU in 1984. How sad is that……
