...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST MONDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow and very strong winds expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet in the most persistent lake snows, with local amounts approaching 3 feet where the bands persist the longest. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph early in the event will diminish late tonight. Blizzard conditions will be possible at times, especially tonight and Sunday.
* WHERE...Erie, Genesee, and Wyoming counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible at times with deep snow cover on roads. Widespread blowing snow will reduce visibility to near zero in lake effect bands. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree and powerline damage. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands and this combined with blowing snow will reduce visibility to near zero. Travel will be extremely difficult to impossible in heavy lake effect bands. Travel within lake effect bands will be extremely dangerous tonight and Sunday. Submit snow reports through our website or social media.

Not for me. But I will be done by 4:30

Just play the game with no fans. Would be a great TV event. I get it though, traveling in that stuff is dangerous and stupid.

Again it’s because of the dangerous travel conditions this type of weather presents
Nobody is being forced to drive in those conditions. Again, that should be a person's choice, not the government's. What about people who have Sunday tickets can't use them because of Monday commitments?

So you would say have the game and let the fans go and don’t send any security to the game? No emergency medical staff at the game either?
Some of y’all are showing how out of touch you are with weather in western NY. Lake effect snow and the wind it brings with it isn’t something to mess with

The game is going to be absolutely fine for Monday
Then why wasn’t it played Sunday since the weather will be the same?

Idk how that has become a bitchfest about MLK day but 45% of employers give their employees the day off according to Bloomberg.
People acting like 90% of the country works Monday are ridiculous.

Because the weather leading up to the game Saturday night-Sunday AM is atrocious. The actual game time weather for Monday will be similar to the game time conditions on Sunday

I was working overnight last night at MSY airport and I was cold as F-. When you start moving wind flow, the air will frostbite you like a bitch.

Would’ve been a historic game for the ages.

I lived in Buffalo. I do t think most people here understand lake effect blizzards. It’s pure whiteout. You couldn’t see it even if they tried to play it. Have to use IR camera.

What’s the reason? Too cold?
That the state has declared a state of emergency and banned vehicles from the roads.
If it was just cold they’d be playing just like the chiefs.

Huh. I thought Genesee County was closer to the middle of the state.
