Indeed.

Both Boog and Ryan made LSU proud tonight.

Lisa Salters did great and I know that was hard for her to talk about being on the field seeing the reactions of all the players on the field.

Question about NFL teams medical staffs.

The trainers that come out, these are actual doctors, correct? Never really thought about the question until tonight. I mean, these are billion dollar organizations, I would assume they probably have more than one MD on the sidelines?

The first guy that got out there looked like he knew what he was dealing with and immediately began working on him and calling it an emergency.

Local paramedics, trainers, and for sure at least a doctor on field immediately

I agree. I thought she was excellent. The guy they had at the hospital was a little repetitive, but I’m not sure what he really could say.

he nfl statement clearly says postponed multiple times and not cancelled or otherwise. They are gonna make this game up

I have no idea what they'll do but just bc the original statement says "postponed" that doesn't mean they can't decide to cancel it at any point forward

Here's the Saints medical staff. I would imagine all, or just about all, are at each game (maybe not the dentist, but who knows).

Verified Twitter blue checks keep saying they’re flying out tonight. I just don’t see it.
Normal road team's in the air about 2 hours after a game (and obviously checked out from the hotel when they leave for the stadium)

It's about a 1 hour flight back to Buffalo

If the NFL hasn't confirmed they're playing tomorrow (which we would know by now) then it doesn't make sense for them to stay whatsoever. Players could be in their own beds close to the time spontaneous lodging for half of the organization could even be sorted

If you’re an athletic trainer in the NFL, you have likely been an athletic trainer (head of crew as well) on a high level like D1. With multiple degrees and lots of hours of experience. The head trainer I worked with several years ago had been at a couple different schools including Notre Dame and then as an assistant with the Dolphins.

That said, even in D1 we had team doctors, several trainers, and then your standard emergency staff/EMS on the sideline.

NFL is likely going to have more of that, especially now with neurologist on the sideline due to NFL’s concussion protocols. And they’re all trained to manage these kind of situations.

So when the game resumes, is the score and time still the same?

These players may get paid well but it’s important to remember their life span at work is short. Also what happens to their bodies is brutal, and they are, human. They have to deal with people hating them for a fumble, their families have to see that hate also. It really is tough on people that are so young. Fast, rich life, but definitely tough. I’m in my mid 40s, vast majority of these players to me seem so young. Many come from broken homes. I really don’t have a point but there is a human factor to NFL players that comes out after this incident we should remember

In baseball it would be

But I haven’t seen anything yet speaking to finishing this game. They will need some good news from the hospital first.

You get some pretty extensive training/walk thrus as a collegiate/pro level trainer on what circumstance requires certain protocols.

He likely got out there and as soon as he checked vitals (like breathing) knew it was emergent. That and pulse are the first things you check.
