This game should have been postponed 20 minutes ago. The NFL is brain dead.

They re going to get in more commercials if they can. These companies paid a lot and they still have a captive audience.

Awful take. Maybe this situation leads to many reevaluating their priorities.

The nfl isn’t completely braindead
They tried to restart the game with a 5 minute "warm up" time right after the dude was taken off the field in an ambulance. They are absolutely braindead

Agreed. He used to not be this bad but in the last 3-4 years he's been one of the worst posters here.

And for the Suzie Kolbers to now suddenly want everyone to “join in prayer” after shunning such things as prayer prior to this, is tough to swallow.

You want to earn NFL dollars, you take risks, sadly, just like loggers, electricians, construction workers, etc.

You want to let everything go like baby mamas, drugs, abuse, etc., don’t join in prayer now.

What the hell is wrong with you?

the fact that they waited for his parents to go into the ambulance with him to go with him to the hospital is an awful sign. There's no way they would delay getting him to the hospital if he life was still saveable.

In this situation, they are not “calling it” in the field.

Commotio cordis

My first thought. Blunt trauma to the chest causing an arrhythmia. I don't think Hamlin was anticipating Higgins really dropping his shoulder into his chest when he went in for the tackle. Hell, most WRs immediately go down when surrounded by so many defenders, I was also surprised to see it. Hamlin never braced himself and this is the result. Really sad.

If ESPN had balls they would make the decision for Goodell. Just say they are ending coverage, and the NFL would most likely follow suit

The fact that news stations set up cameras for the ambulance’s arrival is sick. Absolutely frickin sick.

With the NFL's relationship to gambling could they refund all the bets on tonight's game?
Has nothing to do with the NFL, but all bets would be nullified. Happens with game cancelations due to weather for example.

Or it could be the opposite.

No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game - but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome ... which suddenly seems so irrelevant

With this kind of situation, you call it and figure out the details later

this game is pointless

Doesn't this game basically determine the number 2 vs number 3 seed in the playoffs? it's the difference of getting a first round bye. A lot at stake.

Or maybe he was stable enough for them to wait. Not everything is doom and gloom. Show some optimism.
