Bill Barnwell with some harsh words for the Falcons offense

Imagine if the Warriors ran their offense through Andrew Bogut & Festus Ezeli instead of the splash brothers.”
frick the media for making me defend Arthur Smith, but this is the dumbest narrative going on right now. The national sentiment is that the Falcons don’t give the ball to their best weapons, but two minutes of research can show you that is clearly not the case
Total Scrimmage Yards:
Total touches:
Targets:
Once again, frick them for making me defend Arthur Smith, but how the frick is this dude’s article being published?
The Falcons 3 most targeted players are their last 3 top ten picks but yet they are supposedly “running the offense through Festus Ezeli”
National media is such a joke right now.

Interesting. Those stats tell a different story than just about every single talking head in the media is saying, not just Barnwell
Posted on 12/28/23 at 8:54 pm to diddlydawg7
Barnwell has had a hard-on for the Falcons for a while now.

The heat should be on the front office for trying to make Desmond Ridder a thing…well and smith too because he’s a douche and pretty bad coach

The only reason this narrative exists is because of angry fantasy owners mad that Bijan and Pitts aren’t putting up 20+ points per game.
They would put up a lot more points if Desmond Ridder didn’t throw a pick every time the Falcons get into opponent territory.
QB is the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd reason the Falcons aren’t multiple games up in the NFC South right

Fontenot has done a pretty good job, especially on the defensive side.of the ball.
But Ridder wouldn't even be a conversation if Blank hadn't butted in and pushed them to try to get Watson and piss off the greatest player in franchise history in the process.

The problem is we’re trying to make a back up QB into a starter and it’s clear that he’s never going to be one. We need to trade up and draft a legit QB

They don't have time to rely on a rookie. They are gonna have to trade for a vet, and I believe they will go all in on either Fields or Cousins.

Maybe the issue is that even though London is the most targeted player on his team, his average is roughly 1/2 what the top WR in the league are getting per game
He's 35th in the NFL in targets per game for WR, that number should probably be higher, no?

That does fall on Smith for not scheming him correctly.
Its looking like he's gonna stay, but he's probably gonna have to give up play calling.

Now be fair. He also likes to fumble in opponent territory.

They do lead the team but also London has less targets than Rashee Rice and Josh Downs, who haven't even started all season. Pitts has three more targets than Tyler Conklin. London has to be near the bottom of the league for targets for a team's #1 WR.

And it's not London's fault. He's a stud.

This team is scary with Justin fields, though it’s the falcons so they’d probably screw it up somehow

Fewer plays = fewer targets

Fewer plays, not because of injury = Underutilized
Underutilized = Barnwell is correct even if the Festus Ezeli line is overstatement for comical reasons
