Michigan State went to the playoff in 2015 and went 3-9 in 2016. That program fell off a cliff quickly.

They played in a BCS bowl (the Peach last season) so they sort of recovered.

They weren't nearly as good as the Dantonio teams from about 2010-2015. That felt like complete smoke and mirrors last season for them.

Following the Auburn 2010 blueprint, just no cupcakes in 2020.

2000 Oregon State football went 11-1 and finished #4 in the nation.

Returning most of their team, they were Sports Illustrated's Preseason #1. They finished 5-6 and in the bottom of the Pac10.

That's a great choice. Easy to forget how good they were in 2000.

LSU lost 25 key players, a dozen key coaches and had Covid to deal with.

I don’t think their “collapse” was to be taken too seriously tbh.

Mississippi State Baseball is a bit baffling, but they are a young team and they have had some key injuries.

Good one. SI had Ken Simonton and Joey Harrington on the cover, and ABC scheduled the Civil War for a 12:30 local kickoff so they could televise it nationally in the mid-afternoon slot.

It ended up being an ugly game too, which didn't do the Ducks any favors in their argument to make the BCS championship game.

LSU football because college baseball is pretty much irrelevant on the national scene. Nobody gives a flying frick about Mississippi State's NC and their total collapse. LSU, on the other hand, became a national laughing stock after 2019. Yaw yaw!

With apologies to WCA, shout-out to 1998 UCLA football.

On a 20-game win streak, and minutes away from potentially playing in the first BCS championship game, they got upset by Miami in a rescheduled game from September.

UCLA went 4-7 in 1999.

LSU because they are still not getting any respect and are not ranked as of right now Kelly as the new HC and LSU fans saying he is much better than Orgeron. If that is true, then why aren't they ranked in the top 25? LSU talents are still top 20. If Kelly is that good, they should be ranked right now and have top 20 talents on the team to compete. Is it because Kelly isn't as good as LSU fans say? Even Notre Dame with a much unexperienced HC has the team ranked in the top 20!
Do not forget many LSU fans were saying Notre Dame roster isn't as good as LSU roster. Then again why isn't LSU not ranked in the top 25? Also, LSU said if Orgeron can win a championship then Kelly should do it within 3years!

LSU 2019 to 2020 wasn’t a down fall. It was a coming to reality to those who didn’t know who Ed O really was- a shite arse coach.

Broncos 2015 to 2016 was pretty bad

It’s not a collapse when 80% of your team and coaching staff leave

No they didn’t. They weren’t even as bad as the late 90’s, unless you’re talking about the pussy arse players that quit, then yes those were national laughing stocks

2011-2012 Arkansas deserves a mention.

The Razorbacks were 11-2 in 2011, won the Cotton Bowl, and finished ranked #5. Their only two losses were to the two best teams in the country, Alabama and LSU.

Then Bobby Petrino had his motorcycle accident.

They were still ranked in the top 10 to start the 2012 season even without Petrino. They were then upset by ULM in their second game, and finished 4-8.

UK basketball also fell pretty damn low from 2019 to 2020. However LSU and State both were coming off natties so I'd give either of them the nod over us.

How much did State lose to be as bad as they have been this season? The Bat Cats are barely ahead of them in the standings and we are fricking rancid. LSU losing Burrow and Chase, you can at least understand it.
