When you time the play yourself and clearly see the play took less than 9 seconds, I don’t know what the controversy is.
I was ready to debunk this theory but I just timed the play over 20 times and the most I could get between the center moving the ball and the catch outside the end zone was 8.62 seconds. Almost all of them were in the 8.4-8.5 range.
What needs to be done is to put the footage into an editor and count the frames to get an exact time. This only works because the time was reset to 9 seconds; without that fact, the clock could have been stopped at 8.1 seconds and still showed 9.
I have a different opinion than I did when I went to bed last night but I have moved from my feels to more objective data.
It really doesn't matter now how much objective data exists the internet has determined the "correct" position, and it will not change.

Obviously the B10 have no interest in preventing another App St humiliation for a highly ranked Michigan team.
This is clearly all on the up and up.
This is clearly all on the up and up.

Review is made and referees says “Clock operator please reset the game clock to 9 seconds”
There should have been 9 full seconds of game time left.
No, you get 8 seconds.
0:00 is the end of the game. You don’t count the “zeroth second” (or whatever it’s called).
I think that’s where you’re off, UM actually got 0.3 seconds more than they should have on what should have been the last play.
