TV and streaming rights. Tickets, sponsorships, etc. is window dressing. Media rights is where the money is.

Portal has changed the depth that the dominate SEC teams had. No longer is Alabama 3 deep at safety or LSU 6 deep at corner every year
These dudes are elsewhere in the SEC?

These greedy fricking vampires would have done this regardless of the players ever getting NIL. They'll blame the players to shield themselves, but make no mistake, the people pushing this crap were always headed down this path.
Exactly. They've been destroying conferences to chase more money long before NIL.

Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, and Penn State aren't winning because of 3 and 6-deep players. If the B1G was paying, how come pre-NIL players did not transfer to go up north?

YOU didn't do crap but whine and cry for years on years because that's all anyone in the north does.

well because wasn't a thing? NIL and the portal started roughly a year apart
Michigan didn't have a coach worth a shite pre-JH and when they did, they cheated. Michigan got busted for basketball violations, why are we to believe they wouldn't in football?
Oregon throws money at all their problems, why would they stop short of talent acquisition
What has penn state won of note? two play off games vs SMU & Boise? congrats

it is amazing how much tOSU, Michigan, and other big 10 fanbase delude themselves into thinking they weren't paying players pre-NIL
If that was the case, then how come the B1G did not win national titles until NIL made it legal to pay players?
Everybody, everywhere, was getting paid before NIL. NIL just made it ok to say it out loud and for players and booster to stop lying about it.
As for the Big 10, Ed Martin and MIchigan ring any bells?

Thing is they (especially OSU) did get some 4 and 5 stars outside the Midwest including in the South. They’re really trying to argue some 18 year old turned down considerable sums of money and new cars just to go to OSU or UM for free. If FBS football players cared about academic prestige, you could maybe argue that but they don’t

Harbaugh was the biggest cheater in college football, so I have to agree with you on that one.
Oregon may have cheated, but that was in the Pac.

SEC teams had been cheating way more than anyone else for decades to get those top heavy rosters.
This is the biggest lie you guys have to repeat to yourself to justify why you were dominated by the south for two decades.
You guys did under the table stuff no differently than anyone else. You just couldn't outright pay millions because it's too hard to hide.
You have shown as a conference not only will you go to any extreme to cheat you will defend it.

Exactly and that desperation is what led to these extremes. They needed to overturn the sport so they sponsor the movement for transfer portal. They rationalize Michigan outright cheating for more than half a decade.
Anything to ensure prominence returns to their conference and every time they rationalize their behavior the way a child or woman does... point the finger

god forbid that we in the south lifted the youth out of poverty and pay fair wages for their labor
we were fighting against an unjust and racist system built to keep the working man down. If that is what you call cheating, then by god i am proud of it.

Yup, these Collectives (which shouldn’t exist) took the pay for pay from just being a small circle of high end boosters to a bigger pool of high end boosters and allowed your “middle class” supporters to throw their $500-$1k a year in the mix en masse.
Most of us were fine with the kids being able to earn some NIL money on the up and up. Do your deals with the local businesses and let the national names be in commercials for your national sponsors. All this other shite - “transfer portal” which is nothing more than an unlimited unrestricted free agent pool, this collective pay for play bullshite, the schools having to pay the athletes directly when they were already getting compensated with housing, tuition, meals, healthcare, sponsor swag galore, and were getting monthly stipends ranging from $500 - $1,500. It’s all outside influence that doesn’t give a flying frick about the long term success nor quality of sport pushing all this bullshite.

I keep saying we aren't that far away from trading, a trade deadline, and unlimited eligibility

Ohio St fans in a few years when people don’t give a shite about college sports anymore:
Michigan and OSU win titles back to back and they think the big10 is the new premier football powerhouse. The SEC will win the title again this year and order restored and these insufferable OSU fans will stop beating their chests so much. Clowns.
