Allegedly Michigan has a binder of dirt on mostly Ohio State under Urban paying players, etc.

They consider it a nuclear bomb of info and will drop it if the B1G suspends Harbaugh.

So buckle up

Sources to @TomVH and me: B1G received documents from Michigan that U-M says show Ohio State, Rutgers and Purdue communicated about U-M's signals in 2022. Docs show Purdue, which faced U-M in B1G champ game, got offense signals from Ohio St + D signals from Rutgers, per sources.

quote:

A Big Ten source told ESPN that the materials have been passed along to the NCAA. As
@Johnubacon reported, unknown whether the signal-sharing between league teams violates the Big Ten's sportsmanship policy, but could merit follow-up.

quote:

A source told ESPN that the information the league received isn't expected to impact how the Big Ten proceeds with Michigan and potential discipline under the sportsmanship policy, which could come later this week.

John Bacon is a legit journalist

Also FWIW, since some have asked: the person informing Petiti was not a U-Michigan employee but an independent higher-up in college football, who felt Petiti should be ready to respond.

It makes zero sense that it’s against the rules to scout future opponents live and get their signals that way, but you can communicate with a previous opponent of a future opponent and get the signals from them. Isn’t the point of making it against the rules to prevent the competitive advantage of knowing your opponent’s signs going into a game? How does it matter how you received that info?

U are correct, if u are 2 stupid to keep the same signs and audibles, you get what you get. Even NFL players will admit they tried to steal signs every game to get an advantage, and had people scouting teams, errr watching the signs these jackass ocoords have the backup qb's hold up.

It's one thing to video tape the walk thru for a team, and know their first 20 plays(errrr Patriots), this is nothing like that, this is moronic ocoords not changing their plays or signs.

Payton manning changed "Omaha" every quarter of every game. It was never the same play call, each quarter.

Sources: The Big Ten expects a response from Michigan on the notice of discipline by the end of day on Wednesday. Don’t expect any ruling by the Big Ten on Wednesday, as they are expected to take time to absorb Michigan’s response.

Adam Rittenberg

Today was the deadline for Michigan's response to the notice. As Pete notes, the Big Ten ruling likely will come Thursday, at the earliest. The league's sportsmanship policy states discipline is not subject to appeal.

Ryan day after losing 2 in a row to Michigan

“It’s not us!!!! They steal our signs!! Let’s give Purdue their signs and then Michigan will lose because it’s so unfair!!!!!”

Ryan day after Michigan beats the shite out of Purdue by 21 even when Purdue has their signs :

Let’s not forget that giant pussy day also cried about Clemson having his signs.

Michigan and Purdue broke the exact same rule - they used advanced scouting to steal a future opponent’s signals.

Why does the NCAA and B10 only care about one of them?

Interesting perspective from Dan:

"Which would you rather have? Raw cell phone footage that still needs to be broken down, or highly experienced coaches just handing over their work?Everyone would choose the Purdue option."

Well except they didnt. Michigan broke a rule and Purdue obtained the signs within the rules.

This is also fricking stupid. Stallions or someone broke down the footage and created a laminated spreadsheet with the calls.

They copied down the questions and handed them to Purdue.

Both Michigan and Purdue “cheated.”

Personally I don’t care at all about sign stealing and neither did anyone else until 3 weeks ago.

You can quote tweet an opinion all you want. But if if the facts are true, Michigan is the only one that broke the rules.

The staffer involved in decoding the Wolverines signals said he doesn’t buy that the way Stalions and Michigan allegedly gathered their intel actually gave them much of an advantage over the way other teams usually do it. Or that they actually needed this: theathletic.com/5041776/2023/1…

If it's true that it's 100% within the rules to get signs from past opponents, but not within the rules to get those signs yourself, then the rules are fricking stupid

Love how "Michigan Investigation" is still front page center on ESPN (guess nothing going on in Women's Basketball) and ESPN is acting like they're an impartial observer instead of an accomplice twisting the knife into this farce.
