I don't get the WV love. They'll be making some long hauls to Texas, what, 4 or 5 times a year? That's going to contribute to a loss or two in itself. WV won't compete for championships, imo. And TCU, will they even be able to field a team, after the great drug raid? They won't be competitive either. It's an Okie, maybe Tx league right now. And there's really no excuse for Tx to suck like they have.

Nebraska is a different case. They don't really have a home recruiting base and rely on national recruits. OU does get a lot of Texas guys, but it borders Texas and parts of N Texas are closer to OU than either A&M or UT. Most of their players are Texas/Ok kids. As long as they have a good coach and recruit well, OU should be fine.

A bigger reason for NUs fall was firing Solich, not conference realignment.

I agree thats part of this but when looking at where Nebraska was at when the Big 12 was formed and where they ended up right before they left is a good example of confrence shifts and expansion playing hell on program and its ability to recruit, which is the lifeblood of any program especially one that has to rely on pulling from other states.

Im not saying that OU is going to go down the same path but things just got a lot harder and more competitive for OU to recruit in Texas.

It used to be the Texas Blue CHips picked between Texas and OU. That will change with aTm moving to the SEC. LSU/Bama as well as aTm will compete for these recruits now.

i think 3 max we go to TT and UT this year along with Okie Lite

next year we go to Baylor and TCU and OU so those road trips down there are not really that bad

the only issue is if we get stuck doing it back to back weeks, but it also plays in our favor having teams travel far to play us

we are notorious for dropping a game or two each year we shouldn't so i still think the 9 win range for us is very achievable

no, its just a coincidence. The shite really had nothing to do with it. The Big 12 starting in 1996, 2001, 5 years later NU was in the BCSCG. 2 years later, they were 10-3 and fired their coach. They then hired a guy that want to run the WCO with ground and pound personnel.

There's plenty to go around, LSU and Bama won't get anymore than they do now, there is still a 25 scholarship limit.

Their logic for Mizzou struggling in the SEC doesnt apply to them moving to the Big 12.

Thats the disconnect. They are too busy trying to piss down everyones legs to realize the realties of moving to the Big 12 means for their program

I have NEVER said Mizzou is a great program nor have I said we will come in and compete for titles in the SEC but there is little doubt that the move for Mizzou to the SEC has many more positives and upside then the WVU move to the Big 12.

the major difference is we are a better program to begin with and we always have been. For the most part we have much better talent which proves the quality of the program for a state with only 2 million people. So the learning curve for us going into the Big 12 will not be as steep as you may believe esp when we bring in better quality talent than everyone in the Big 12 not named Texas,OU and Okie lite some years

Your "excuses" are legit but everyone elses are BS.

This is very typical of the WVU fanbase.

Is the Big 12 a stronger conference than the Big East?

Answer that question.

at the top with out a doubt but the middle to bottom tier programs where about the same not much of a diffence b/w KU and Uconn or Pitt and Iowa State

but this nonesne of you thinking the talent on 7 win mizzou teams would win 4 or 5 BE titles straight out right is fricking insane

I apologize for calling you a dumbass. You seem like a good guy and I generally agree with you.

The only point I'm trying to make in this thread is that Oklahoma will be fine, no matter who's in their conference.
